Our next artist in the Siccas Guitars studio in Karlsruhe is the wonderful French classical guitarist, Laura Rouy. She will be performing a fantastic online concert on three exclusive guitars, featuring works by Roland Dyens, John Dowland, Aristide Moari, and a jazz arrangement by her father, Pascal Rouy, originally composed by Georges Brassens. Absolute perfection in execution. Such delicacy and power all together...such a beautiful talent and practiced skill. Truly an amazing artist. Not to mention the lovely guitars! However, on a personal note, I still feel the modern pieces generally sound like they were laboriously composed by someone in an insane asylum. Melody is from the heart. Perhaps that is why these post-modern seminaries, uh, I mean 'conservatories' are so preoccupied with its antithesis.
