Lots and lots of layers. I put ink or pastels on deli paper or acetate, and then rubbed that on the pages and cards to create extra textures.

I'm really not set up for video - I do all the photo albums on facebook then I mail them to Mom for videoing. But who knows, maybe I can figure something out someday. For this journal I did a lot of what I think of as 'dry' distressing - no spraying. Smoosh ink or pastels on a piece of packaging, then rub that on the page. Repeat with lots of colors :)

Thank you Laura for sharing that I'll be trying that today in my art room. Girl if you could see my setup that I do for my KZbin channel you would just laugh. I do all my videos from my phone sometimes I have them propped up between 2 chopsticks or it's or tongs duct taped to a suitcase handle You wouldn't believe some of the ways I've had to video. But I understand what you're saying.

@@Wendy-sj6di It is wallpaper, with tissue paper layered on top, then lots and lots of layers of colour. The actual wallpaper is red and gold - when i say a lot of layers, i mean it!

Any of the shiny gold bits are Nuvo Aspen Gold. Most of the other bits are covered in matte medium to dull them down so the shiny bits really contrast. :)
