Laura, you can tell what a kind sensitive person you are I have been watching for a while. Thank you for being so honest with us. I have too struggled with my mental health for decades but worked on those negative parades of thoughts over the years. So much less now. I too try to frame situations with the lens of gratitude. My parents are getting older and I try to appreciate all the special moments I get to spend with them. Also my sister was very sick last Christmas but is doing so much better this year so grateful for that. I too used to write down things I was grateful for and when I was very down on myself I would write down 5 things I was proud of myself that I did that day. Really helped.❤️Merry Christmas.

Hi Laura My Dad is in hospital at the moment and his mental health has been low prior, bur is at an all time low now which has made me realise more than ever that the turkey, trimmings, gifts and decorations don’t count, it’s just about being together and having our health. Your message is so right, being you and what you want to do for Christmas is all that counts. Seeing people you follow addressing real life is a breath of fresh air. Keep being your wonderful real self 😊

I stumbled across your blog today and I think it has fueled my love of putting in the effort to making lovely memories with family and friends. 100% right Laura. For those who watch you tube videos, instagram social media in general, they can get caught up in the materialistic false world that is portrayed I personally at 63 only watch you tube but know peoples lives aren’t that perfect even though they seem to go everywhere and have wonderful lives, friends and families. The real world isn’t rose coloured as almost everyone suffers from anxieties. I’m lucky with my grown daughters husband and grand children but we have suffered a lot of loss, sadness and now for both my dear elderly in laws, terminal illness’s but I count my blessings every single day because there are people for whatever reasons, are homeless without anyone to hold close. Thank you for showing gratitude and counting your blessings. I wish you and your partner and family a happy healthy Christmas and happy new year too. 😘🎄

The idea that someone has a stressless, perfect life is a fallacy. I too have struggled with my mental health for as long as I can remember. Negative thoughts surface now and again. Like you, I have learned how to move past them. It's all good and just part of our makeup as it is for millions of others. I recall an American show where a guy would travel to a random State and town, and knock on a resident's door to hear their life story. It made me recognize that everyone has challenges in their lives. Much more than myself. My best to you and yours this Chrismas from Canada.

It’s funny what you are saying, when I see all the sequins and glitzy outfits in the shops and you tubers showing outfits for parties, I think, my life is boring, I’m not going to any parties as such, I don’t need sequins etc. This made me feel quite inadequate and then…..I reminded my self, I have a beautiful new grand daughter, a fantastic husband and sons, my parents are both still alive…..who needs glitz and glamour really.
