Hi Laura I enjoy your designs and this jewlbox is no exception. Your design skills are put to the test with smaller size courtyards I think. When will we see some more private gardens from your crew? I always go back to blonde Terry, Gordon's & Kevin's while waiting for new gardens from you. They are so enjoyable. I live in South Florida and have been able to plant many of the plants you use...the nurseries and big box stores actually have started offering a good selection of succulents and cacti. That 'ice' rock looks like selenite. If it is, its water soluble. And it might leach out salts. So it can't go in a pot or bed where it will get wet from watering or rain.

I was thinking the same thing - selenite is crystallized gypsum and will dissolve and easily chip (speaking from experience) Might want to check with the rock vendor to verify what it is.

I love your videos and have learned so much form you! Love the "courtyard feel" ..... Can you please show us (me :) ) from start to finish>reveal "how to build a bound" I've re-reviewed your videos and I cant locate one that specifically shows how you build a bound. Seem easy but I'm not sure how to start other than dumping soil and calling it a day. I live in Mesa AZ., we have monsoon season for several months (Africa heat + rain + high winds) and I need to build a few mounds that wont wash away. Thank you for your videos and I adore your personality!

I am SO excited for this project. There is not enough info out there on jewel box gardens. But think about it…a lot of people don’t have enough room for anything but a jewel box garden! I am a huge fan of Thomas Hobbs’ book The Jewel Box Garden. Other than your rare video on a Jewel Box garden…there is really nothing out there on exquisitely cultivated and intentional small gardens with eye candy everywhere you look. Thank you and your client for this!
