The first tractor that I bought was a JD3020 diesel in 1966. Rented 160 acres from a neighbor, used my dad's equipment in exchange for my labor to help in on his ground. Was 14 at the time. Retired from farming in 2013 and still owned my 3020. Sold it for 6 times what I paid for it new. 6600 hours of service!

My father owns a 1974 John Deere 310. It's been used in Germany and had 6000 on the hours on the clock until 2001 when my family bought it. Since then it went over 10 thousand hours and started counting from zero again now it is at 4000 hours. The old JDs never die...

Laura, your Dad is an amazing man, and a stellar example of why Independent Farmers are the backbone of our Agricultural System. He has a great sense of humor, and he is obviously intelligent and proficient in many more disciplines than Farming. And your parents together have raised an exceptional young Lady (You). The love you manifest for your family is a brilliant candle in an otherwise dark continent of families that are less devoted and cohesive as your Family is in your Videos. I was born in Nebraska, Grand Island, but Mom and Dad moved to Colorado during the Uranium Boom when I was seven. I am a converted Coloradoan now. The mountains of Southwest Colorado are to me what your Nebraska Farmland is to you: Home. Peace and blessings. And Welcome Home to Grandpa Curt! Namasté.

Laura I have a 47h, we have a 52 and 53 superhero North place in our small or acreage we still use them or bigger newer diesels get more work but we still use them. They're simple you got spark you got fuel and you got the motor to turn over nine times out of 10 they're going to run. And I often say I don't care what color they were red green orange battleship Gray Oliver green it didn't matter I wonder if those old boys that were building those tractors back during and before world war II and right after and any idea that the work they were doing would last as long as it has?

I served my apprenticeship in a Deutz-Fahr Dealership a little over 40yrs ago here in Scotland! They also had a Bobcat agency, absolutely brilliant machines! They were all wheeled ones back then, but the cabs were all open, so no heaters!! They were great fun to wheely round the yard on either the front or rear axle!

Loved seeing the 3020 and 4020. Those are the ones I learned to operate when I was a kid in Iowa. Bought a 4010 a couple of years ago to farm a small property I have now and it's just like being a kid all over again. Shifting the old syncro-range transmission is just like riding a bike and the 4010 has the THIRD reverse!

My dad bought new Farmall H in 1951 and we only use it for hayrides now but she will start every time. The bond you have with your dad is like the one l have with my youngest daughter. She and her husband just moved back to the farm house where l was raised fulfilling her dream of living there someday. She calls it her happy place!

Laura, when any day for me starts out with a face as adorable as my little shichon’s face, you know it’s gonna be a good day. And when you were born, your parents didn’t know they’d be raising such an exceptional young farmer (you) that will one day inherit the family farm and teach her kids to grow their own food, sow and harvest the crops, and use different fertilizers to increase the yield. I commend your mom and dad as independent farmers and great parents.
