I'm actually from Kentucky and the blue dress is the only one of those options I could imagine someone wearing to a wedding around here. Any of the other options would definitely make the mother of the bride gossip about how you're trying to draw attention away from her daughter on her big day. And even then, the slit might be a bit much. Of course if you know the couple won't have an issue with it, go for a shorter dress if you want, but I typically see wedding guests in like, lower thigh-mid calf length dresses around here. Also you might want to match the dress to the venue, we could be talking a more modern venue in Louisville, a church wedding, or a barn somewhere out in a more rural area, and that changes how you'll want to dress! :) However, before wearing the blue dress I would check just to make sure the bridesmaids aren't wearing a similar color; I'm assuming this is the wedding of one of Jeremy's friends from UK so there's a pretty good chance blue could be one of their colors!

Another lifelong Kentuckian here, and I definitely agree with the outfit choices. The dresses are all super cute, but I could definitely see where some of the more conservative folks would give some looks. Honestly, if you looked at some of the outfits from the Derby and Oaks you would probably find some great wedding attire inspo!!! Not everyone around here is a prude though, especially in Louisville 😉

I am just not a fan of short dresses for weddings, so I would go with the blue. I think it’s really nice and classy. The other dresses are too clubby/going out-y and i think weddings should be more of an elegant/classy event. I know everyone is different but that’s just my thoughts!

Wait so for your outdoor space, have you thought about moving the new seating set to where the big gap currently is? It'll match really nicely with the lounge set and then you can have the pieces from your old set as a second seating spot where it used to be + the dining table (so the two chairs would have their back to the pools and the sofa would be opposite them, with the pit in the middle). So it's like two completely different entertainment areas. The two chairs + the mini sofa and the fire pit table are really great for entertaining, and the new corner sofa could be really shown off because you would be able to see all the wood detail walking into the yard! Maybe add a corner umbrella too for some shade and additional height?

For the outdoor area. my suggestion is: add tall planters on either side of the double doors. angle the chaise lounges and add a small table and an umbrella in the middle of them. and consider adding a rug under them. Then I know someone suggested a bar. But maybe try a mcm inspired outdoor bar cart so you can wheel it to wherever you're at, and I would keep/store it to the right of the doors and planter. The tall pieces should break up the view and make it look complete but not crowded.

As many have already pointed out the blue is your best bet on what to wear. Although I also liked the burgundy one, some may say it’s a bit too short for a southern wedding though. Also check what the colors of the wedding are so you don’t accidentally end up matching with the bridesmaids

If the wedding is in Lexington, the weather has been a little chilly in the mornings, but gets hot about noon (75-80 degrees fahrenheit/23-26 degrees celsius). It's also recently been randomly raining for a couple hours, and then it clears up after a short bit. So I would prepare for the random rain as well. Hope you like your first Kentucky trip! Also, if you need to do a random Target trip while in town, the one by the mall, is the one I work at, and personally I think it's the easiest to shop and is the only one with self-checkout. The squishmallow selection is also pretty great too!

Please don’t wear red or super bright colors to a wedding you want a dress to blend with the crowd so the bride and groom pop. I liked the blue and blues are safe as well as purples and greens. Depending on the attire should determine the length cocktail would be the style of dresses you tried on. Garden is more floral or flowy. Semiformal would be like the blue dress or a shift dress. Formal/black tie would be an evening gown. Overall you should know the bride or groom to know the style they like and what they would be ok with at a wedding.

I never really leave comments but because I’ve rearranged and redecorated every inch of my home and have nothing left to improve (for now 🤪), I neeeeed to keep these creative juices flowing. 😂💃🏻 Ok so I think it would look nice if you moved the potted plants that are against the wall over a bit, maybe to a new location and put the couch there (possibly the little table). You mentioned you planned on moving the chaise loungers back, it might be nice to have a “dry off in the sun” location where those swimming could still be close/converse, ya know? I understand the aesthetic wouldn’t be the most desirable but you could 100% upgrade that couch with a can of outdoor spray paint (if you wanted to lighten the color)- then either replace the cushions entirely or have custom covers made to match the new ones, that’ll make it way more cohesive! Maybe purchase a few outdoor pillows to add to both couches to help tie it all together? The beer pong table could be moved to the backside of the cabana and covered with a neutral outdoor furniture tarp, that way it’ll stay safe from the sun while being out of sight. Also, do you often have gatherings with a lot of people? If so, could always store the other 2 chairs behind the cabana-if you don’t utilize them this summer then I’d get rid of them. Ok I think that’s all I have for now 🤪 thanks for letting me share my two cents, you’re such a sweet little angel! 😇✨💖
