One of the truly funniest scenes ever committed to celluloid. I fell in love with this scene when me and my dad would watch the laurel and hardy shorts on BBC2 in the UK in the late 70's...I remember my Dad literally curled up and paralysed with laughter at this scene...and I have loved these two Angels of the 20th Century ever since...beautiful.

I don't think so mate. OK for these movie people living gilded lives. Not nice for the people living under prohibition and extreme poverty.These movies offered a brief respite from terrible misery.

I remember those shorts on BBC2, they went on until the early 80s, circa 1982-83 I remember, they were often double billed with Harold Lloyd. Time less classics.

Talking about imported compact 🚗 car. I love how Stan thought the man with a weird eye was talking to him. The man told Stan that he's the married man and he kissed the 👰 bride Ollie. You have to admit that's very funny and hilarious scene. That car was made for Stan and how Stan's head popped up from the roof. Stan started to cry because he thought he married to Ollie. 😄😄😊😀😉😲👍👌
@melissacooper42824 жыл бұрын
No big surprise there! In one of their films they were arguing like a married couple! It was after they adopted a baby only to discover that Mrs. Hardy has left him because Ollie was spending more time with Stan than with her!
@torstenscholz62434 жыл бұрын
The cross-eyed man was one of the last roles for the once hugely popular silent film comedian Ben Turpin. Great, underrated pioneer of silent slapstick comedy. His last role ever was in a L&H film, too, he was the cross-eyed plumber in Saps at Sea.

@melissacooper42823 жыл бұрын
Ollie told Stan "Not yet." because he and Dulcy wern't married yet. Back in that time it was a custom for friends and family to throw rice and shoes at the newlyweds. It meant to wish them good luck. I'm glad that those traditions stopped because the rice is harmful to animals and I wouldn't want to get hit by a shoe!
