Que des classiques de la période du muet magnifique et grandiose travail de restauration. Par contre le joyeux pique-nique est parlant lui 1931.

0:40 is from Two Tars. For some reason, every print I have ever seen of it always looks like 16mm, soft and generations removed from the camera negative. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has a 35mm fine grain master positive in it's holdings. I wonder if their print is superior to what we have all seen thus far.

Why the sound if it’s a silent film

"Silent" refers to the film's lack of a dialogue soundtrack. Silent films were accompanied by live music and this set is mimicking that experience.
