Questions about playing like will my strumming finger. I’m all natural and I use my fingers to play no pick just fingers and finger nails is that a better sound than the picking because I hear only the pick when I try to play with a pick?

@@f1s2hg3 I always recommend using both. There are things you can do with a pick you cannot do with your fingers, but ultimately whatever is most comfortable.

I played guitar for over 40 years but arthritis has taken that away from me. I really love the way you teach. I never took a lesson in my life. I wish I was 40 years younger.

Yes, arthritis can be a pain. I'm very sorry to hear that. I have many students who have varying degrees of it. I always tell them, do the best you can with what you got. Even if it playing single notes or bass notes.

This is so great, grew up on CCR and Bad Moon Rising was one of the very first tunes I learned on the guitar along with House of the rising sun. Thx Lauren. I change the chords to my faster moving chords to learn the rhythm. That G to A I’m a little slow at and loose the rhythm. So I use the ole trusty stuck like glue finger chords. G chord C Chord (G shape just drop the 1st and second fingers down one string each.) I did the same with a Horse with no Name, kept the stuck like glue index and pinky fingers and made an Em and that other chord. Seems to help with keeping the rhythm and helps me keep up with you while later I practice the correct chords. Great video. Thank you.

Hey Lauren I know another cool 3 chord song that only uses 3 major chords ! The song is called "Hippy Hippy Shake !" by the Swinging Blue Jeans from Liverpool England (so same area of England as the Beatles !) ! it is in the original key of E major which only has 3 chords in it which are E major, A Major and B major and is a 12 bar blues Rock N Roll 1960's tune ! :) I like to play the chords in open. G tuning with barre chords with my glass slide but it can also be played in Standard tuning aswell with just open chords, and I can also play lead guitar and lead guitar solo in this song too with my new Harmony Boss Ps6 pedal! with Overdrive pedal ! :)

Hey Lauren I know another easy 3 chord song for everybody to try out ! it is called "Another Saturday Night" by Sam Cooke ! it is a 12 bar blues song in the original key of A major with 1 , 4 , 5 chord progression with 3 chords which are A major, D major and E major ! :) i am going to have a go at playing the fun hokin tenor saxophone solo on my electronic midi piano keyboard with my garageband software with my macbook pro computer ! lol :) i shall play the guitar and the piano chords to this song in the original key of A major to the original backing track but i shall transpose the song to the key of G major so that i can play the middle saxophone solo for this song on my electric midi piano keyboard in the transposed key of G major ! :)

Is there any other way to play shame on the moon( Bob Segar) without damn bar chords??? My arthritis never allows me to do bar chords. KZbin offers no lessons without bar chords in that song! There is a way to play with a Barre chords in song. You could play the bottom 4 strings only of the chord.
