Maze in the mirror was written by beomgyu during his trainee days about the pressure he felt(though the members helped refine it for the comeback) The mirror is literally the practice room mirror that they were basically forced to look at everyday. The first few lyrics he sings about being under someone else's control and not even being able to show when he's sick i.e the agency is always watching them so they were afraid to show even the slightest weakness in fear that they'd be kicked out of the debut team. Please don't give up on me, is basically a statement that can be said towards 3 parties, the company, Moa,and himself.

I've heard, though I don't have a source on this, that Yeonjun said at one point that when he performed "Maze in the Mirror" with the group for the first time, Beomgyu's lyrics that they refined together were so powerful that Yeonjun felt all of the loneliness and pain like they were still trainees, except he opened his eyes and saw MOA sitting in front of them. I don't know if it's true, but that's a powerful anecdote. I'm sure other people will say this many times over, but "PUMA" is about an actual event that happened where a puma escaped from a zoo in Seoul. Despite not having injured anyone during its escape, the puma was shot to death in the streets rather than being recovered. So TXT is talking about the risk of putting yourself out there, of wanting to attain freedom at any cost even if it makes you a target. There's some lyrics in there that also compare that level of vulnerability to existing as personas on the internet. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the insanity that was this album ("Eternally" threw us all for a loop in the best way lol) and hope you keep up the TXT reactions ^_^ If you ever want to get more invested in the storyline for TXT, the order of the music videos is "Nap of a Star" > "Magic Island" > "Eternally" > "The Doom's Night" (not an MV, an animation) > "Frost." But honestly the storyline is meant to be very confusing and open to interpretation, so don't worry too much about trying to make sense of it and just...experience it, see what resonates with you, if you want. If you really want to know the most popular theories about the book and the ghost, let me know. I'd be happy to share, but I also completely understand if you'd rather make your own conclusions about it all.

The "please dont give up on me" part is like speaking to MOA or TXT themselves. Coz Maze in the mirror talks about how they cant even recognize themselves in front of the mirror. So its like they are convincing theirselves to overcome this hardship and not give up

Puma is also kinda sad song haha is about a puma that escaped from the zoo but was shot down 4 hrs after it escaped Talks about this fake freedom cause it was finally free but just running scared without nowhere to go

some info! puma has two meanings. it is in literal terms about a real life puma that escaped a zoo in south korea, it was able to be free from captivity but was quickly fatally shot even though it hadn't harmed anyone (this incident faced criticism within sk) and then this scenario is used in a metaphorical sense to describe txt who have just debut (escaped the zoo/being trainees) so they are met with freedom for the first time, but were immediately subject to very large amounts of hate- so that taste of joy from the freedom was very quickly ripped away.

I'm so happy you reacted to these!! Maze in the mirror is one of my comfort songs, and that person who was playing the guitar was Beomgyu! Beomgyu was the producer and wrote the lyrics while the members helped with some lyrics! When I first heard this song I felt what they all went through and what Beomgyu went through. Beomgyu was always seen as this happy and bubbly person but I'm super glad that now he's expressing himself more, Beomgyu once told a story about his trainee day's were this one time he called his father crying that he didn't want to do this anymore because it was too hard and was asking if he can go back home and his parents said that he's always welcomed back home, his mother was crying so much because of what Beomgyu said, later on his dad ended up calling him telling him that he's always seen Beomgyu accomplish everything he wanted to do and he hopes that he accomplishes his dream of being a k-pop idol, Beomgyu then realized that he didn't want to give up so he went back to training. All of the members are super strong and I'm so glad they didn't give up their dream of being a k-pop idol even though their trainee days were so harsh.

In the hip hop genre , we have puma and frost. And yes , Txt were heavily trained in hip hop and they have much more to show us. Their rock concept already changed the trajectory of kpop . If they do hip hop genre in their next cb , it's only a matter of time they rule pop industry.

Truly enjoying your journey discovering how unique TXT are. I honestly think they stand out among many groups in their generation because they’re just doing their own thing and it’s amazing. Something you missed out in eternally mv - writings on the glass “find what’s floating in the sky” “is this how we eventually end up?” “i can’t breathe” “i need to escape” “don’t go up the stairs” “remember my name” “what have we done wrong " - the dragon from end of the magic island ,is shown begining of eternally - the place where yeonjun went is the same apocalypse that soobin witnessed in his dream in the begining -yeonjun bleeding scene from taehyun's vision , the throat cut was initially caused by the two color eyed cat ,which was shown in "nap of a star" - the dream or past where soobin went you can find some children wearing cardboard mask on their head ,this was the same cardboard piece that txt was wearing in the begining of "nap of a star" while they were looking at the star through telescope - yes, only kai and yeonjun was in other members vision and ,kai and soobin had seen the ghost ,also kai got to see all the other members & his vision wasn't that dark compared to other members ,this is why i believe kai has something hidden , as u can see in "nap of a star" kai had angel wings ( which looks mechanical )while in eternally he had a devil wing I do suggest you checkout laina sunflower videos for explanation

I think PUMA is actually about an actual Puma in Korea that escaped the zoo. So the lyrics therefore talk about this "freedom" that this puma is experiencing for the first time. But obviously, when the people saw the puma escape, they decided to hunt it down, therefore the references to the "gunshots" etc. In the starting of the song too, you can hear a sense of cluelessness on where to go or what to do in "westside, eastside, didn't know where to go" or "the world i met is alien" or "i see my mother's face that I longed for" etc Edit: i cant believe I forgt to talk about the imagery in the mv itself lmaoo. It very obvious that someone is imprisoned/chained up (taehyun was chained up, kai was in a box with lazers all pointing at him, beomgyu was in a circle surrounded by arrow and fire, etc) so they are talking about like not being free

Yes! I would suggest watching some of Laina's vidoes on the mv's as it really helps to piece it all together. We are actually getting an explanation of sorts on TXTs storyline as their webtoon/webnovel is the MV universe.

Little Facts: 1. The lyrics of the Maze of the Mirror was written by the members and Produced by Beomgyu. 2. Puma is really based on a true story of a Puma who escaped on the zoo and was killed, you can see the connection of the lyrics on the puma that was killed. And Yeonjun wrote his rap verse on Puma.

Yeah BH definitely didn't explain all part of Eternally clearly xD but you can understand way more my watching the rest of The Starseekers storyline. The Doom's Night animation explains some part of Eternally, Frost (from the Chaos Chapter albums) is another storyline part and basically all is being explained little by little in their ongoing Webtoon and Wattpad series (The Starseekers) ;-) But we really spend three years trying to understand the storyline aha, it's really fascinating.

about "the book", you can read their webtoon or web novel about their universe called "The Star Seeker" after years we moa also just figured out things bc of these releases. different from fans explanation like what you just wanna watch, reading those things feels more accurate (?) bc bighit the one who's release it. and there's also their The Star Seekers Animation if you wanna know abt their universe

42:09 well they are revealing the storyline in complete order now. Although they haven't have it for the last three years they've come to a point where they were revealing that now. There was a reason as to why does the cat keeps appearing, and Yeonjun making an appearance in almost every vision of the members(or as moas called "dying in every mv"). The plot in the webnovel version and webtoon version is currently in that timeline where it had something to do with the cat. I do hope once you go all through the rest of their discography and of course their storyline mvs + animation film you can catch up on the storyline in webtoon at least. Although the webnovel version is more detailed (obviously) the plot is not somewhat in line to the webtoon. And some the music videos will start to make sense too. Well moas could share these theories but I feel like if we do we'd end up spoiling the plot for you lol coz there's really much to know more about these characters. But here are some hints: their characters live in a world where magic is present, they have different names(to separate the actual artists to the fictional characters), spoiler: these characters also work in the idol industry, another spoiler: they (will) have magical powers and tribe, their physical features are also important. To have more background in the story and characters,you can check the channel "The Star Seekers". They pointed all of those out.

To understand the storyline better I think it's a good idea to watch an explanation video. I know Laina Sunflower's video helped me a lot when I was lost😂 She says it's a part 2 in the video but I found part 2 much more helpful than part 1 plus it's longer and the things she mentions in part 1 she mentions in part 2 anyways so please check it out! A great reaction again and once again another win for *the* yeonjun puma rap 😌😌😌 its just too powerful. But yeah Maze in the Mirror never fails to get me emo especially knowing the back story of the song and how all the members contributed to it. A bit disappointed that you didn't get to experience the first listen shock of Eternally with a separate lyric vid but the MV is truly so beautiful. But ahhh you're finally getting into Blue Hour era and I am so excited. If Yeonjun was your bias before prepare for your heart to bias him even more in this era (although the other members really do not make it easy).
