I’m deeply sorry for your loss. I can only begin to imagine the pain of losing your child. Your family is in my prayers. This song came into my life when my dad was dying. It was meant to be part of a playlist I was making to lift his spirits and give him strength since we couldn’t be with him (Covid isolation protocols). He passed before I could get the playlist to him, and it ended up being one of the songs playing over the slideshow I made for his funeral. It’s been very healing for me, too. Lauren was his favorite artist. My dad’s passing is what brought me back to Christ. God is with us through all of our pain and grief. ❤

my husband is incarcerated....When He called last I played this song for him, afterwards I told him this song is me asking him to hold in to me. See even though he is incarcerated, it doesnt make who he IS, I met my husband five years ago, I was in a very dark place and was ready to let go. I wasnt looking for anyone, in fact i tried to push him away. He taught me my worth as a woman, to look people in the eyes when talking, and to hold my head up when I walk into a room. I have always believed in God and that how He sees His creation is Good and i believed that for everyone but myself. God Used my husband to reach my heart in places that I thought would never be alive again. God in turn used me to bring my husband to surrender His life to Jesus. Every tear that has fallen, every silent prayer, every moment of past abuse, guilt, shame and regret is all gone. My husband is a good and decent man, Like anyone made mistakes and choices that led him to where He is, most would judge him But whom umong us is without sin- I love you Marc forever and always and I thank God for you every minute of the day. Everyone has a story to those who are willing to forgo listening. My wife and I just said goodbye to our son this afternoon as we seen him off on a bus, back to the life he has ultimately, taken refuge in. That of addiction, back to the streets of desire. His addiction started when he was around 14. We of course as many, were unaware of the path he was taking. Fast forward to now, he is 30. For the past 16 years our lives have taken a different path as parents. For the past 10 years he has been home but twice. Many times it would be years before we heard about or from him. When he came home last year, it was because of being incarcerated for some time and decided he needed a break. He was home for 7 weeks total. He was brought up with the up most respect of others, polite, thoughtful and respectful. This trip, he was home for 4 weeks before the call of his life came to haunt him once more. Again, we had retrieved him from the incarceration of jail, again he was delighted to be home and have time with family. Mother is so besides herself, trying to cherish each moment he is here. He is my stepson. My wife divorced his dad after five years because he could not extinguish the drug habit. Yesterday, He went by to see his real father, himself, still a drug user and getting close to irreversible health issues at 58 with a heart attack, on medicine, using drugs still, failing liver, kidneys and such. My stepson knows all too well the possibility of this happening to him, yet, off he goes. He has never really taken advice and run with it, always deciding for himself what he feels is best. We pray each day that the good Lord watches over him. That is the best we can do. We have sent him to retreats, private christian schools when he was younger, nothing seemed to give that needed direction. I offered this time to send him to a facility full in house for a year, he said no. He has the looks along with a personality of a 12 on a score of 1 to 10. He was a superstar when he played little league baseball, hockey, football, had so much talent, we often wondered where he could have gone with it. To this day, he does call me dad. More ever than his biological father, This is nice but as I told him once, what ever you feel comfortable with. His only way to deal with this his if does it all on his own. All we can do is try and support him when he comes home. He dose not use when he is here, he gets his medicine from the state for those addicted to offset those cravings, as well as health, dental, mental, food card. Of course what he always says is......thank you both for paying your taxes. Sometimes in our lives, a glimmer of hope arises. It can come in so many different forms, we are not actually looking for it because we already know it exists. This is such a time. Thank you for your post. Thank you Lauren for this beautiful song. Regardless when it was released, it only takes a reflection of a kindred soul to graciously come to light at any given time.

​I pray your son makes peace with his demons and finds his way home. Your story is also mine. One son found his way out of the darkness and one did not. 8 years ago today I held onto my oldest son for the last time. I know he was a believer and loved God. Told me he found peace when he went to church with me. The last time I saw him before his O. D. on Rx fentanyl from a pain clinic, I told him to keep praying and he told me he prayed every day. My surviving son overcame his addiction and is in recovery. June 2024 opened his own recovery center in remembrance of his brother. He has helped so many. I pray your child finds his own recovery. I think his way of saying please don't give up on me is by telling you thank you for paying your taxes. No one ever wanted to grow up to become addicted. Bad things and trauma happens that makes you believe bad things about yourself and leads to self destruction. What ever happened to you, does not define you. Take back your life and God will take care of the evil ones. You are loved and are the precious child of God.

My husband kept on listening to this song last year this time. A few weeks or days later our 1.5 year old son was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive brain tumor quarter the size of his brain… it shook us to the core especially when the doctors called us after a failed op with a mass bleeding that they couldn’t do anything anymore… 5mins to live… I arose within and wrestled with the living Christ to display His power right now. We kept on speaking the Word over this little body. He made it through the night, the doctors couldn’t believe their eyes. God Almighty parted the Red Sea in front of our eyes! God spoke to us that His glory is going to be revealed… here we are after one year of much refinement… 10 months of intense chemo and now have started intense radiation to “medically stabilize the remaining tumors”… even tough we are going through all the natural procedures our hope and faith is not in medicine… but in the Living God who will still part the Jordan to enter into the Promised Land of Divine Health and Healing!!! We pray salvation to everyone that has been involved in the process and a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit to the glory of the beautiful Son of God Jesus Christ!!!

My sister passed away on November 2,2021 and she had sent me this song in a message. I didn’t see it until the morning after she passed and it was like she was telling me to hold on to her. I’m praying! Five years ago I was homeless, living in my car. I had lost everything. I was a hotel housekeeper, making barely enough to survive. After work I would sit in coffee shops, since I had nowhere else to go. One day I was in a bookstore, and I picked up a book about Mother Teresa. I thought, “Surely I can do something for the orphans in India whom no one cares about!” So I went to India. I had only $55 in my pocket for my whole trip! Now I am married and we have twin babies. @@gdstudios-fineartcreations2295 I wrote this months ago, and I remember that night when I kept asking God why's everything seems so hard, why life is so tough, that I just really wanted to give up and tell the whole world that I'm struggling and I'm exhausted from living this life. I was crying and I felt like I couldn't breathe. But, I'm glad to say that here I am, still holding. Life is still tough, yes, but I know God won't let me go, and I always thank Him for that.
