Just a thought… Maybe put the long sofa in front of the window and then you would have more space for the loveseat and chair where you typically have the long sofa

Wrapping is done this year 5 days before Christmas. That's a first for me. When my kids were young I waited till they fell asleep Christmas Eve before I put everything out for the same reason you said. To see the excitement on their faces. They are all young adults now so Christmas looks different now.

Personally I would rather have all of the dirty dishes in the sink. Yes, it can look messy and overwhelming if there is a lot of them piled up, but I would far rather have the mess and clutter confined to one central location rather than left all over the house making everything look messy and unkept.
