I still do that standing over my dad while he's sleeping thing, and I'm a preteen, it's because sometimes late at night I stand in his doorway when all the lights are out to make sure he doesn't wake up because his room is right outside the stairs and he has double doors and always keeps them open, yes sometimes he wakes up to me just standing there. Also sometimes I do it whenever he falls asleep and I'm in his room like, we were watching something or whatever, I sometimes awkwardly stand there for like an hour and he just wakes up to me standing over him. I also just do it to my friends because they scare so easily, one time my friend was being really annoying while she was staying the night so at 3 am I turned off all the lights in my room(I usually sleep with a lamp on), stood in the corner of my room next to the door, kicked something so she would wake up and boy when I tell you she was terrified, when I turned on the lights I just said, "oh, you're awake, know where Mini put the Cheezits?" It was hilarious
