I remember 2 seasons ago Demar hit a buzzer beater in regular season, Zach's shoulders dropped and he shook his head in frustration.. That is when I knew he wasn't that dude.. super talented but he needs to be the 3rd star with guys like LBJ n AD

Keith brings up a good point talking about Markkanen and how he wants to stay in Utah because his family is happy there. I find that many Lakers fans (in particular...) overrate the appeal of living in California/Los Angeles metro area like every free agent would LOVE to move there or something. Not for everybody....

Do more research on the subject of Lauri Markkanen. It’s not his agent who is pushing the narrative. It’s actually Lauri

😊
@T2RunnerАй бұрын
That doesn't mean his agent isn't telling him to push that narrative or saying things behind the scenes. Just cause we don't hear it from his mouth, it does mean he hasn't said it.
@batman2239Ай бұрын
@@T2Runner that wasn’t how it was framed by the contributors in the post. It was framed as to indicate that he doesn’t feel the way that he has stated publicly and privately to insiders
@magicofshootingstar5825Ай бұрын
Lauri is a Finn. We don't talk if we don't mean it. Lauri has said many times in both US and Finnish media unprompted that he likes Utah. He has said that right after he got to the Jazz and he is still saying that. I don't think anything Tony Jones said should be surprise to anyone who has listened of Lauris interviews. Utahs weather is close to Finlands, not just as cold and there is nature there (as is everywhere in Finland). So he feels homey there 🙂 He didn't like living in Chigaco because it was living in a big city. He liked Cleveland better but he has said that Utah is still a lot better because of all the nature. When he was in Chicago he wasn't bashing it obviously but you never heard him also speaking it up the same way he has spoken up Utah. Instead for example he talked about the prestige of the organisation when they asked his thoughts about the city. That's the Finnish honesty 😃 He isn't money motivated (since he has already earned more than anyone actually needs 😄) same way than some other players are, so that's not main driving force either for him. For him the size of the contract is more a NBA status thing than actual money thing. He has said (during this last season) that he wants to see how far he/they can take the team instead of just hopping from team to team chasing better situations. He has that old school star mentality and I think it's something to be proud of as a Lauri fan 🙂 Oh and one more thing: Jazz sent at least an assistant coach and Keyonte George (and one of the team photographers I think) to Finland to train with Lauri and have been posting pics to their social media. I would assume they wouldn't do that if they were close to trading him at the moment. Or what do you guys think? 😃

Wow, I didn't realize you were such close friends with Markkanen and knew so much about him and how he feels.
@magicofshootingstar5825Ай бұрын
@dmitryowens That is all things that he has said (most of it multiple times) in interviews and what people actually knowing him (for example former national team teammates) have said about his personality etc. 😃 It doesn't actually require me knowing him personally, just listening 😂😂

Question where does all this “tax money” go to when collected from teams later in the season

Stop the 🧢. Markannen is going on 28 years old. He’s not a piece to rebuild around.
@dmitryowensАй бұрын
He doesn't turn 28 for 9 months, dude - that means he has at least 3 more years of his prime left. Paul George turns 35 the same month (May) that Markkanen turns 28 and he just got signed to a 50+ mil 3 year contract.
@_WEsTWooDАй бұрын
@@dmitryowens I don’t give a damn when he turns 28. I said he was going on 28 and he is. By the time the Jazz are done rebuilding and “ ready to compete “ he’ll be in his 30’s. So it’s 🧢. Same reason why the Nets dealt Bridges. 27 going on 28 is too old for a rebuild. And 34 year old Paul George didn’t join a rebuild. He joined a team that’s already ready to win with multiple max contract players. You have some of the worst takes I’ve ever seen on YT
@dmitryowensАй бұрын
@_WEsTWooD And you're a casual who doesn't know the definitions of figures of speech. When you say someone is "going on 28", that means they're close (within 2 to 3 months) to turning 28, not just a few months past their 27th birthday. And the Jazz almost made the play-in the season before last - with the right moves, they could make the play-in this coming season, so they're not as far off as you claim.
@_WEsTWooDАй бұрын
@@dmitryowens That’s just your definition, which doesn’t matter to me. Nor does a “ play in “ scenario make sense for a rebuild, doofus, because if the Jazz finish outside of the top 10 they lose their ‘25 1st round pick. You’re so out of touch that you’re talking about the Jazz making the damn play-in or playoffs during a rebuild where losing benefits them most. Lmao And BTW, there are multiple teams that are currently ready to make the leap into the playoff picture - and Utah ain’t one of them. Houston is one of them, as well as Memphis when Ja returns next season. Utah is going to be buried - and that’s exactly where they want and need to be in order to land Cooper Flagg….you DLo loving casual.
