I think this was done on purpose. Moreover, Laurie told Mira that there is a ghostly chance to meet again, but it's just ghostly. But not to leave a fire in the soul of Mira (as well as in the soul of the viewer) would be a crime against the genre in a remake of a film about one of the first femme fatalle 😁

I watched the show, loved it for the first 3 episodes then became utterly confused at what I was watching. Then I read reviews that its supposed to be viewed through the eyes of the Director and then it became a much cleverer show. the protagonist is Mira yet its how the Director sees her, not necessarily how she is. Still doesn't explain a lot of the moments but I went back to enjoying it purely for entertainment purposes.
