As a kid I would daydream endlessly about there being a secret area in the Koala Kong boss fight of Crash Bandicoot. I was almost convinced that, if only you could jump on to the minecart, you'd go down the tracks and deep into the caverns of a mining/volcanic area. This honestly feels like a realisation of that eccentric daydream lol

It's crazy you show this cause I remember a few years back it people talking about cut content from Crash 1 and, 2. Particularly levels from Crash 1 that was dummied out for being either "too hard" like slippery climb and, beta sunset Vista. As well as levels like a cavern where you would have seen the inside of the island similar to this. I remember some saying the later crash games did take those assets and make them actually levels for Crash Wrath of Cortex and, Twinsanity. So seeing someone take OG Crash and show a new level with it's set up. Truly amazing to see.

Awesome custom level! I dreamed of playing my own Crash levels as a kid lol. Btw at 1:43 those purple fruits remind me of the ones in Crash: Mind Over Mutant which refill the mutant's special ability! Nice reference.

If I could go back in time and show 10 year old me people outside of Naughty Dog were implementing all this custom content into the PS1 games, I'd have called myself a liar. This is nothing short of brilliant. Feels like a mix between the iconic cut lava level and dragon mines from CTR. Yet another genius idea and execution. Can't wait to see more! Commenting for the algorithm boost and the sheer amount of love poured into modpack. The early CB1 hud is my favourite detail on this level, but those moving minecarts holding crates are absolutely wicked!

This is really impressive! I did wonder if this was inspired by the cut Crash 1 level, and when I saw the cut section I knew I was right. My only criticism is that it looks a bit dark and hard to see at times… though I don’t know if that’s my screen, your settings, the recording software you used or some mix of the lot. Regardless, you NEVER fail to amaze me, mate!

I guarantee they would have put that lava cave level second to last on the second island before you fight Kola Kong. It just seems fitting almost like an entrance to his boss arena but Boulder Dash was put in it's place instead.
