Lava completely changes the local topography. It appears that with a continuous, big volume flow, driven downward by gravity, lava can accumulate, fill any depression and cross any barrier if it is below its source. If this eruption will last long enough, soon we will see a new shield volcano in Iceland. Gutn Tog , are you ready to keep reporting eruption events during the next few years? How will you get there when the road will be blocked by lava flowing into the ocean? Best regards and take care.
