When the lava touches the glass, it gets hotter causing it to grow bigger. But, it will grow bigger at different speeds so it will get bigger in one part then it cant fit so it breaks (when the lava comes into contact with the glass, it heats up and expands. Since there is a high temperature, the areas that were directly in contact with the glass would expand quickly, causing the glass to be an uneven shape and shatter)[No, I did not search this up this is entirely my doing]{ik im a nerd}

putting water on volcanos will only affect the top layer, and the heat from lower layers will build up pressure until the volcano erupts, and then the plug created by the solidified lava will fly up and fall back down doing additional damage, which is why you never fully block a volcano's opening

You're right about one thing, the Lithium-ion Battery, but it doesn't explode because of the heat. Lithium just has a very strong combustion reaction with Oxygen. Once the lava melts away the polymer casing sealing the Lithium from the air, that reaction with Oxygen takes place at a high rate, resulting in the explosion we see. That's why device repair techs have to be very careful, simply piercing the battery can also result in an explosion, or giant fire that not even a fire extinguisher can tame, until all the Lithium is burned out.
