Lavandes Trianon vs Mon Guerlain | This or That?

I love your review! So thorough and informative. I’ve realized that I LOVE the lavender vanilla combination in perfume. I have Mon Guerlain and several of the flankers. I also have YSL Libre Intense. I was so curious about Lavandes Trianon. I got a decant off of eBay to sample. I love it so much! I think it’s my favorite of the three. I don’t get the “green” or metallic aspect that you mention, but I need to try my sample a bit more. To me it smells like lavender creme brûlée. It’s fascinating how different perfumes, all with lavender and vanilla, can each smell so unique. I think I might have to seek out a bottle of LT. It figures that I’d love the most expensive one the best.

Thank you for mentioning my Depop :) I totally agree the two fragrances do share similarities, to me LT smells a tiny bit bitter due to the lavender, maybe that’s the coin smell you’ve mentioned? LT smells on the “weirder” side as it is less mainstream and more unique, but MG is definitely more crowd pleasing and a safer blind buy. Great video 👍🏼

I have all the Maison Lancome fragrances and Lavandes is my absolute favorite. I’m not especially keen on Mon Guerlain.

I don't smell the coin note but the milky note in LD is just so comforting! If I have a signature scent, this will be the one and this is the only one I have a backup bottle for 🍼 just absolutely love it

Thank you! I have a mini of Mon Guerlain and whenever I wear it I think I'm going to end up buying a FB because the lavender is so lovely...but by the end I've changed my mind. It's too "perfumey" for my taste. Lavandes Trianon has been on my radar for a while, but the prices I've been able to find it at are always...foolish. But, I think I'm going to go ahead and get it anyway. Worst case scenario I hate it and can just resell to recoup some of the cost. ...Actually, though...the worst case scenario is that I like it enough to keep it but not enough to actually get my money's worth (which is what happens on a blind buy in 8 out of 10 cases). ::sigh:: I have high hopes, your video has inspired me!

@@joamoon Roses Berberanza, Oud Bouquet and Lavandes Trianon all last over 8 hours on my skin with really good sillages. Parfait de Roses lasts less - maybe 5-6 hours - but is still strong and so so pretty.

@@ellyafragrantlife I have the Lancôme , just ordered the mon guerlain edp in hopes I can save my Lancôme from using it all the time. Do they remind you of each other or they are different perfumes all together?

@Minka Oppey If you're looking for something to 'pad out' your Lavandes Trianon, Mon Guerlain is a good choice. They're definitely different fragrances, but they're in the same family as they both focus pretty much just on vanilla and lavender. I use my Mon Guerlain as a substitute for the Lancome if I'm trying to conserve it.
