LaVar created the Jr Basketball Association, JBA, and the players were able to receive 60% of their jersey sales, plus pay, and were paid more than the players in the NBA G league so the NBA begin to pay their G league players more to prevent them from going to the JBA. Before that move, the average pay in the G league was $900+ dollars a month. LaVar then took the GBA All-Star team to Europe and played all the top teams and dominated, they were then headed to China, and a deal was struck that caused the NBA to stop discriminating against LaMelo and the JBA went away.
