It's a good video to feel motivated, but I will also say that you have to be aware of whether you are actually "lazy" or if you are struggling with something mentally that needs more than just "pulling yourself together". Sometimes being stuck has a deeper meaning.

right, and one of her most viewed videos talked about what to do when you're stuck for so long and the steps she shared were really helpful bc she acknowledged the hard parts of being in your lowest point. so while i understand what aileen's trying to say, being stuck mentally is a whole different obstacle itself and the word "lazy" feels undermining the hardships of overcoming a huge mental hurdle when you've mentally crashed and burnt.

For almost one year i battled depression and anxiety because when pandemic hits all that i used to do and routines change and also fear of the next what will happen next...until 2024 came i slowly accept and realized that episode of my life is not anymore in the present i must think positively and more productive and face the day with courage and faith that God is with me and my family...❤

Hi, your content is awesome!! I’m just here to remind everyone that “laziness” is a myth, most of the time there are underlying issues that are causing the perceived “laziness”, please don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself with no motivation. Most of the tips in this video are almost impossible for those of us who live with ADHD, depression or other mental health issues and neurodivergencies, so please don’t beat yourself up if you came here to get motivated but you find yourself being like, “if it were only so easy….”

Agreed, the word lazy is unhelpful and can be 'triggering' for someone with ADHD, as it was for me.
@yacobeinauan9533Ай бұрын
I have been diagnosed long enough with ADHD fortunately to understand that i can only do what i can and not beat myself up over it if i can’t do something. Its not always easy but i manage. Last year it was so bad to the point i felt like i was nailed to the couch not being able to do any chores. If i didn’t feel like doing something i didn’t do it. Now i can more often than not motivate myself to do things even if i don’t want too at first. It takes time and practice. I got diagnosed 16 years ago as a kid but even i don’t always to know the answer.

This video helped me to try to become better again. During the pandemic, I was very strict with how I planned my calendar (time-blocking), it did help however I felt so constricted. So now, I will try time-blocking and task batching again but not to do it too strictly so that I get tired. I've been recently becoming lazy and I want to change that. Another thing is I kept talking to myself so negatively that it is also one of the reasons why I'm lazy. So starting today (02/29), I will not let myself talk negatively about myself. I should talk to myself better. I should give myself credit. I will stop the negative self-talk because it is not helping anyone. I do not deserve that. My younger self does not deserve this. Thank you so much for this video!

This type of content feels toxic sometimes and incredibly repetitive…as others have commented, that “lazy” label feels very superficial to what the reality is for many people. Watching through the video, it all felt like sparkly slogans and what you “have” to do, most of which comes with privilege!

I believe laziness is an outdated term that came from ignorance of mental health. Someone who lacks desire to take care of themselves or their surroundings is someone in need of help, and that’s okay. Sure there are people who want others to cater to their every whim, but I would more so refer to those people as entitled.
