Despite the fierce and rigid reputation of Grand Motif Tarkin in Star Wars. Carrie Fisher stated actor Peter Cushing smelled like lavender in their shared scenes.....he also wore bedroom slippers as the boots were too uncomfortable. Princess Leia lamented: “I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board.” Carrie Fisher stated that in real life it was the opposite...... "He smelled like linen and lavender" Cushing attributed such a pleasant smell to his tendency to frequently brush his teeth because he was self-conscious about possibly having bad breath.
