I don't know what so-called FFP rules Chelsea are subject to which other clubs seem to have to stringently adhere to. I mean they spent about 800m in 3 transfer windows, 8 year contracts with laughingly options of another year and somehow we're told 'move along nothing to see here' when other clubs with money like Newcastle are told careful you're near your spending limit.

Step one don’t play in Europe (European rules re 5 year contracts), step two sign players on 9 year contracts to amortise the cost over a longer duration. Step three sign all Liverpools targets… On a serious note ppl forget that we’ve spent big but also sold big, and not just sold but sold players who were on excessive wages. As part of that strategy we’ve signed young, so that not only do these players have resale value (if it doesn’t work) but also if it does work it means we don’t need to spend for a decade (our double pivot is good for ten years now). So yeah it looks excessive (it is excessive) but we’ve now got the youngest squad in the PL all of whom are tied to long, incentivised contracts (lower starting wages). Bohely and Co have played a blinder from both a financial and a strategic viewpoint.

Please pay attention to how FSG moves. The Red Sox didn't win a title for 86 years, broke the curse, won a few more, then got rid of the GM and manager that orchestrated it when they started to struggle. I think JH was present to let Klopp et al know he's not as out of touch as it seems. If Klopp/Schmadtke don't get things right, there will be new management soon. Both good players but very young and not worth anywhere near the fees. LFC can use the £110+m on more experienced players. We have at least two incredible young players already in Ben Doak and Stefan Bajcetic who can fit straight into team. Bajcetic was excellent in the defensive midfielder role last year before he got injured and should be back very soon (along with Thiago).
