Depends , if that piece of land wanted to separate and join russia or become independend then i would indeed give it up or at least not fight and die for it. Majority of people in crimea and donbas WANTED to join russia... held a referendum and voted to join russia. (no surprise after 8 years of shelling by the ukrainian government/military since 2014 after the coup and the discrimination against ethnic russians since that time.) Also it is according to international law ... but whatever. You want to fight for a piece of land and its people that chose to not be a part of you anymore and who you did not like in the first place, so you want to drive those people out and take their land ? Maybe this wouldn't have happened if there was not this unreasonable russia hatred within ukraine (fanned by the west), and consequently discriminating and shelling/killing them and thus having russia eventually intervene. This whole situation has been horribly pointless and could've been avoided if it was not for the west's meddling. Who actually believed they could beat russia (a nuclear superpower! to remind everybody) in a war via ukraine. Now they are losing bad and its all of their/our own making. So go ahead and die for the aspirations of the western elites and ukrainian neo-nutsies.
