Sorry for the delay my friends! My editor and I are trying to make my videos more accessible as per request to everyone by adding captions. I still haven't figured out how to make it so they can be taken away if you don't want caption so sorry to those who hate it. We'll get it together by the next video! Hope you're happy today!

Fun fact --- ADHD is severely undiagnosed specifically for black women/young girls!! So I am glad you shared and put this out there. And Maybe it may help people in the future😊

thank you for being open about your adhd in school. i’m a senior in high school, and after doing a lot of research and monitoring myself, i am confident that i have adhd and need to get diagnosed. in college, i want to get my doctorate in psychology to help girls like you and i impacted by adhd and other neurological disorders get diagnosed quicker, especially black girls like us who have the lowest rate of diagnosis. thank you for sharing your experiences. i identify with you a lot.

Girl, I haven't even watched the video yet but I need to tell you: I'm in the biggest motivation lump tonight, feel like I will never achieve anything and everyone around me is getting their bachelor's degree and going into work life. Law school here takes so long and sometimes it feels endless. But now I will go to sleep to get up bright and early tomorrow, watch your video while I drink my coffee and them I'm gonna tackle the pile of work on my desk. Thank you so much for making these videos! I love them! Thanks for your energy and everything. You don't know how much this impacts people's lives - especially my mood right now ♥️

hi marina! thank you so much for watching and please remember not to be so hard on yourself. I was just in a motivation slump myself this past weekend and I found that treating myself with extra kindness and not putting unnecessary pressure on my need to perform and be that super motivated/productive machine got me out of it. creating daily to do lists and checking off things one at a time has helped me tremendously. you've got this ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

As a fellow law student who has adhd as well I wanted to say thank you. I was having a really bad time with my adhd, I recently found out I have it so I was contemplating whether I continue with my degree or not... Your video put a smile on my 😔 face, again thank you.

Thank you sooo much for the captions!!! Its great to see YTers who make an effort to include all types of audiences. (: (also, sorry for the unsolicited advice, but I've seen other people use dark yellow as a caption color for videos because it can be easier to see than just black or just white, I personally find yellow really easy to read and it can also look more ~aesthetic~ lol, but not everyone has the same needs for text accessibility tho)

I definitely understood about wanting to see more black people around and having black friends. I lived in LA and my whole life ive gone to 'white' schools(I graduated from Fairfax) where it was more so "I can count the amount of black people on one hand" and it affected me alot growing up. It took me a while to realize I was still black because of how little black people, culture, heritage I knew. My friends at the time mocked it alot jokingly saying im not a real black person or that i was 'one of them' instead and now at 22 its my first time being at a college where there are so many black people and its like wow this is what ive been missing! THIS is what i needed!

I’m on a pre-med track and I also have adhd, first gen American. I waited until my junior year to get medicated and a diagnosis Bc I didn’t even consider it for myself. When I talked to my doctor and talked about everything I was feeling and how I was using adaptations to make due, she basically just stared at me and said “wow”. I thought it was normal. All this to say, get help if you need it please! I will be the butt of all the druggie jokes if you need me to be so that you feel confident to get help. It’s changed my life and I don’t have to work at 200% to survive. It’s not cheating, it’s getting the same starting line.

Thank you for sharing about ADHD and law school. I’ve been thinking about applying but the idea of going to law school with ADHD (recently-ish diagnosed) scares me especially being an older student (I’ve already done under grad and grad school). Also, if you haven’t talked to your doctor about non stimulant medications they might be a route that could help too. Thank you again for sharing your experience!

I just got diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago and I've been so worried about how hard something like law school would be for me. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences with the medication and what struggles you are seeing. Have you noticed a difference in how you study now that you know you have ADHD? I'm wondering if there's a good plan of attack I could work on before I start studying for the LSAT hard core (which is terrifying... LOL).
@LeandraYomo3 жыл бұрын
I think the main difference is that I don’t bully myself because of my adhd tendencies because before I use to think I was just not disciplined enough. I also love the pomodoro method and to do lists as a way to keep me on track. The medication definitely helps too!
@ashleighsprings97323 жыл бұрын
Dude! Totally get the stigma around ADHD but don’t let stop you from getting the help YOU need. People will always talk and as long as you and professors know that you aren’t cheating, then you should 100% take the accommodations

Thank you for sharing that you have ADHD. Many discover they have this until Grad School. Good thing you found out in the beginning of Law school. I'm assuming that you have accommodations to aid you in completing a 3 hour exam. If didn't either way your medication and the fact that your self aware of it is so much helpful for you. Imagine if you didn't know or discovered it, you would probably would have failed your finals.
@LeandraYomo3 жыл бұрын
you're so right Gema! I know in undergrad I used to be so hard on myself before I knew because I just thought I was lazy or scatterbrained and felt really bad that I couldn't seem to discipline myself like other. Being self aware is and getting my diagnosis was incredibly relieving
