Could you explain why you dont recommend an appellate judge?

It really depends on personal preferences. Appellate judges do not see jury trials, which is a deal breaker for me. I learned so much from seeing all sorts of trials during my internships, which opened a lot of doors. But, if you're wanting to become an appellate attorney or simply improve your writing, then appellate judges could be a good path as well.

I don't see why not! Your odds of getting the internship may be a bit lower than a law student, but it doesn't hurt to try

does internships give you some time to study? when do you work when you are a student?

Good questions! I did my internships over the summer when I didn't have any classes. But I do know people (2Ls and 3Ls) that had internships during the semesters as well. To do that, you'll just need to schedule your semester so that you have a block of time to devote to the internship. Just keep in mind that your internship will most likely need to come after your first year because (1) the law school typically sets a full schedule for 1Ls and (2) a judge is typically going to prefer someone with some law school experience.
