My second or third : ) I just discovered The Bates in December 2024. I live in Central Kentucky. We have been to The Smokies - Gatlinburg a lot over the years. I am almost 70. I have a granddaughter that lives in Knoxville. The Bates are down home folks. I also have an Aunt who lives in Chattanooga. My husband has a niece that lives in Goodlettsville, TN. We love Tennessee. 🥰 We love Kentucky too. I am ready for another Smoky Mts trip.

Thank you for sharing your family's celebration! I turned 65 on 12/31. I have 6 siblings, 4 older, 2 younger. An 8th one passed away at days old a couple of years before I was born. I cherish every one of them. I thank my wonderful parents for raising us with so much love! My folks are gone now, Dad in 08 (86+) and Mom in 22 (99½). I have 4 daughters myself, 4 grandchildren, and several neices, a nephew, and 6 (?) great nieces and nephews! I've watched you all grow up from the beginning of The United Bates of America and through BuB! I watch all the vlogs, too! I wish you all God's greatest love and blessings forever! I probably won't meet any of you in this life, but one day, when we're walking those golden streets, I will stop and say hello! What a glorious time that will soon be! 💞🙏🏻☝️

Followed your family since my own children were young. They're all grown now. I'm so glad all of the Bates kids are having such great lives & careers. And so happy to see mom & dad enjoying their years as grandparents while the youngest Bate children are growing up as well. I hope the younger girls get a televised wedding special too to feel like princesses after they find their husband's to enter a godly union for lifelong family happiness. You all remind me of my paternal fathers family. They've all passed away now including my father. I was raised in & out of foster care after losing my family quite young. I used to dream of a big family & big family love when I was 10 to 13 years old. To have a God blessed home and lifelong family looking out for me cherishing one another & upholding wholesome godly traditions with a Christ conscious centered around the cherishment of one another and all others. A forever home centered around not just the children's health, safety, education, morality, & spirituality, but also their JOY being as much of a priority as the rest. Fostering in them to find their skills talents gifts & gifts of the spirit & how to manifest them to prosper from them in adulthood while in childhood, even with so many children still ensuring their hobbies & interests etc were nurtured & provided. And the family works together too for the greatest good of all. The boys helped Gil with his tree service business & the girls helped Kelly with meal preps etc. But having a large family still play hard and nurture individuality in each child & the joy to just be a kid too vs constant chores with that many children. Gil & Kelly managed this to perfection while always there for the kids with gentle loving hearts, they still made time for each other nurturing their marriage & closeness as a priority too. I know tv can portray a fantasy sometimes but you can really tell with the Bates, what you see isn't sugar coated illusion. It's genuine strong family love, love of Jesus & the creator, God & genuine love for each member of the family as well as the older children's spouses welcomed into the fold with genuine love & care. Gil & Kelly genuinely make every child feel they are a priority the way parents of only 1 to 3 children do. And each sibling looks after the other siblings in way that is godly & true care as well as honor their parents fully aware how much they are loved & how much Gil & Kelly put into giving them a wonderful childhood in every way including financially. Finding income opportunities that would provide for so many children but also ensuring they didn't sacrifice presence for prosperity. I'm sure some of that was God's doing too, establishing with TLC then UP tv so the world can have wholesome entertainment that watching not only was inspiring & touches the heart but also ensures Gil & Kelly providing well for each one of their 19 children. Plus that being a big platform for the older kids to have an outreach and instant following to have lucrative social media platforms too as well as a clothing shop increase in the tree business free advertisement with the show & inspired for content on the show to persue dreams...nathans flight school, michaelas husbands book & her amazing knitting skills selling adorable knitted items, to Lawson's ability to keep persuing his music. I pray one of his songs is picked up in Nashville to become a chart topper not just to prosper all the Bates families further but also for the charity endeavors Lawson & his lovely intelligent wife are passionate about. The story with the little girl who needed heart surgery & making it happen. Just all the beautiful things I've witnessed in this family, while aware they've inspired other families to follow the christian morals of love togetherness rejection of sin but not rejection of humanity...Gil being called to lead others as a church minister to follow God's law & know Jesus's love mercy grace as each soul takes up their walk in faith not of this world but of the spirit of God & love. Aware we can do all things when christ is the power within us that strengthens us & blessings emerge when we live according to his teachings of God's laws & his grace if we err on occasion while trying to perfect our souls into a diamond vs one in the rough (aka not educated or socially skilled but still innately good at their core before aware they are a child of God & seek to follow the path of good to take the rough out then sparkle & shine as God's hand is in the perfecting of each person who seeks to find, they will be answered. Or if a person has endured harm deception or false judgement via those who follow the ways of this world outside of a spirit of discernment god given & true wisdom or true laws of gods purpose. We have our testimonies as we are spiritually shown God is with us and the righteous cannot be removed. But when it is time as the temple aka body is no longer viable & illness has over taken it, God reveals the beauty of rebirth born again Christian into the kingdom of love again. Each episode on your channel of the marriages the births of the children then the care of them & each other...it reminds me how beautiful gods anointing is being chosen to be born again in the right nest that continues gods ways & love as each child born there will remain there in love, thrive while being nurtured in every way. Parents mighty in attending to their joy & bringing out the child's gifts skills talents of the spirit while in that nurturing they get up every morning with a smile as each day is joy filled and then go to bed each night contented vs in fear despair illness or hunger etc etc etc. But they sleep in heavenly peace knowing their health safety education morality spirituality is looked after on the highest level possible right along side their joy and the development of their hobbies interests supported and provided all resources etc to develop them. For example if one is an artist then getting art classes & art supplies, if one is an equestrian then horse riding lessons and taken to ride each week, if golf their passion given the clubs lessons and new courses taken to regularly to enjoy & master their hobby, or if sewing then get a sewing machine all the material thread and patterns as well as lessons, or given a guitar with lessons then opportunity to book a studio time to record...I could go on and on as I've watched the Bates nurture their children's individuality passions hobbies & finding their niche skill sets and ensuring the kids have all they need supplies etc etc to go all in that hobby and gain the skills and mastery for it and the reward and joy putting their efforts into that. These kids aren't just bored getting into trouble with nothing to do nor guided taught and nurtured. Their parents are not only giving several opportunities to the kids to find their passion talents skills hobbies etc while supporting the children as they develop them. Each child's parents are parenting with higher love & focus as did I with my grown children. If they see their daughter at 10 yrs old watch a baking cake decorating show & say that looks fun. You go get them a lesson with a baker & get them all the frosting tips and ingredients etc and let them see if that's their passion. Then if it is, once their 20 they're starting a baking business and skilled & at 18 educated through culinary school to thrive living their best life while taught to wait on gods timing for their spouse to be met while ensure the relationship is God anointed to be forever family centered & family values. Like Katie & Josie finding their passion is doing hair or the other girls passion is fashion. Or little Layla wanting to be a ballerina so dance school & adorable costumes. Etc etc. All of the Bates cherish one another strong senses of self & living fulfilling lives with strong sense of togetherness & ensuring the children grow up nurtured & guided to live their best lives too while instill closeness to the lord & understanding of God's love too. In my childhood in & out of foster homes to my adult life spent several years working child protective services to the time I managed facilities for the disabled population & other care of humanity jobs, it just genuinely lifts one up seeing wholesome families that truly love one another & their spouses, their children & the community advocating & helping others for the greater good of what it is supposed to mean to have a relationship with God first & find others of the same moral compass to marry or work with while having a family of the same mode for the entirety of ones life. So many do not have this or while God intended them born into this, it falls short of the glory of God as they strive to create that for their lives with God at the core of their efforts. You all make living & loving in the good life kingdom look easy & effortless but mostly it is easy as all of you truly know how to love on a discerning holy spirit level so it all works out & everyone is filled with peace, love, good health, as each generation born will grow up in the same mode & thrive in it. Bless you all. I didn't think I'd write such a long post but here I did. Just wanted you all to know how many perceive you in your sharing your lives with the world. It's made me feel a sense of family love watching you all in your love for one another & all the children born in your love & care. My husband and I retired after 50 yrs in ministry……and some of the things we saw in other ministers very scary,….but when a dad’s children talk about how Godly he is……what a testament of his love for the Lord, your mom, and all his babies….
