Testing grounds phase 2 is live now where you can try out the new Lawdaddy. Quite a few things has changed with him most notably the impale only being on light parry. Pretty controversial but the dirty deed is done. Animations are smooth which is fantastic so no complaints there. Lmk how your games and how you feel about the lawbringer right now. While i am gonna miss the impale on heavy I can see why they did it. I'm sure the main issue is just how strong impale is due to just how far it could push somebody, you could essentially get a top heavy off a heavy parry if you were anywhere near a wall and god forbid you are near a ledge. As amusing as it was sometimes it was 100% to strong for a heavy parry punish.

As sad as the removal of impale from heavy parry it was way to strong of a punish that could be pulled off on a heavy parry. With how far it could push somebody if a wall was within sight you could almost always get a top heavy off a heavy parry.

Tbf it was also incredibly unfair how LB could get a free wallsplat from parrying a heavy. You basically get a lightparry punish for parrying a heavy and the only criteria needed to do so is if your opponent has their back facing a wall.

Lawbringer main here, all he needed was a bit of hyper armor and that would be great. Even before I could regularly clutch a match, kill their commander or sometimes most of the enemy team in dominion when we're both breaking thanks to parrying, stalling until revenge, and the juggernaut ability. I still occasionally failed when someone parried during their teams ganking at the end. He was always good but lighter classes could shut him down since he had no hyper armor (despite being a big man in plate armor and chaimail) I don't think nerfing his damage was necessary, most of his attacks are easy to parry so long as your not panicking when he lands a good hit.

He has easy movesets and tools that are good for you to learn other people timing. Don't bash spam. Doing that and you will learn nothing plus being lamest of lame.

Personally dont enjoy new lswbringer at all. His animations look a bit awkward and I liked his unique mixups after heavy finishers. I get objectively this rework is better but I value a heroes uniqueness in their moveset rather than just being good. I personally think LB would be fine if he just got chain lights and armor on his middle chain heavy. Maybe im just out of touch but id rather ubi leave the cast alone at this point rather than major reworks.

I just want LB to be the heavy hitter of the knights man…. And I still stand by my stance that they need to return to OG shove (with the exception of shove on block) and just fix the mixup. You can initiate the mixup reliably, but nothing is guaranteed- so you can keep the damage high as well as the recovery (so he can get punished for reading wrong). I’ve always felt LB is supposed to be a scary mind game character who needs a high health pool because he relies on getting in your head- but if he does, he can delete you.

And I lowkey think the crossplay addon is being a bit funky with the latency numbers, since they are too good to be true for wifi warriors... The side dodge bash has a relatively big window, you can either instantly press bash after dodging to negate a canceled attack into guardbreak from the oponnent or you can press it a bit later after you dodged an attack. Hope this helps ^^

Nah, another hero who’s been ripped off his identity. He is supposed to be a parry specialist (which means according to logic that he should have a special toolkit while punishing) according to his tags below his name on the roster summary. Not another generic hero without a special punish. Just return his impale attack on heavy parry and cut the dmg down to 15 if wallsplats and remove the three light chain. It’s not that hard. Even afeera has 18 dmg heavy attack after a heavy parry and warmommy around 25 bleed dmg if she wallsplats and they are not “parry specialists”.

What they could do for a 3.0 TG: - Make impale accessible on Heavy parry but reduce overall damage on wallsplat to 20. - Impale is 6 Damage, Wallsplat confirms a 14 damage special attack. - Give him a 2-light chain that's enhanced all the way through instead of the 3-light. - Give him the 500ms chain bash back and instead give him the option to longarm anywhere that he can do that bash as a 2-timing mixup in chains. - Speed up the longarm to 800ms to suit that option but reduce his potential damage to 20+4 on all sides (special heavy + combo light) The rest of this TG is great for revitalizing LB's kit though.

Warmonger is far from broken. No shield character dominates the game. Lawbringer punishes are currently way too strong. Afeera is good but not broken.

But if you are capable of consistently parrying lights - you are broken, not the character. How many people can do that? Lawbringer in average player's hand is always a fair opponent, his moveset and combos are quite limited. THE ONLY change that could be made about him - fairly broken dash + bash. The animation of that thing is quite weird, often it absolutely ignores gb and allows to evade multiple attacks. That's it, everything else is alright.

When he gets a punish off any parry, light or heavy, that does 25 damage, drains stam, pauses stam, blinds, puts you into a bash mix up that drains more stam, that leads into one of the highest damage unblockables in the game, while keeping the threat of doing this punish all over again, it’s beyond strong. This isn’t a high risk high reward. Any parry at all (easiest to learn mechanic of the game) and most guard breaks in duels/brawls gets him this far. Also no, being able to parry lights doesn’t make you broken. At least half the player base can easily do that. And his dodge bash is a dodge attack. It’s suppose to have s, it’s supposed to beat feint to gb. It’s punishable with a gb after you dodge it.

As a lawbringer main i can say that th impale update is utter nonsense, it used to be the safe play after a parry being an unavoidable punish. now its the least safe out of all of them.

I don’t think the devs understand who exactly lawbringer is. He’s a big tall guy wearing full knight armor with a pole axe and he does less than 30 damage on heavy finishers. Logic??
