Hip Opsession is an annual event in Nantes dedicated to hip hop culture in France and Europe. This year the event returns once again with its iconic breaking battles in which more than 200 of the best international bboys and bgirls will compete in different categories.

Predatorz came out great but japan took it in my opinion. Judges leaned more towards their own specific type of breakdance. Not many OGs or judges care for power anymore which kinda sucks, to me power is another form of style when added correctly like how gen roc and ra1on did. They both took it 2 to 1. Predatorz did really good on musicality but their sets werent better so it just depends what you like more at this point. Really really great battle though, this was an intense fun battle. Best ive seen so far in 2024

Dias reminds me of Uzee rock where they do some amazing things and some cringe things. Either way more power to them for rocking their own style. It’s nice to see people have their own original flavor and take on the dance and not just look like clones of everyone else. But still it can be a lot at times with the 1 minute rounds lol 😆👍🏽

I think musicality is one of, if not the most important elements of bboying, but judges need to take into account when the ones battling are using it as an excuse for doing weak stuff like holding a pose while standing up that isn't really a freeze or just repeating the same body movement when it's not even difficult. It's like they're hiding being gassed behind that. This is the second big battle I've seen the judges rob who should have won and gave it to Predators on some serious bias. Team Japan should have got that.
