Korean politics 101 Left wing party, Democratic Party (Current opposition party) : Pro- China, Pro-North Korea. Slight to severe level of anti-American sentiment. (They have members of the party who have a history of bombing the US embassy, attempts to assassinate an US diplomats, visited North Korea to meet with Kim Il Sung in the past, backed by the biggest workers' union that were charged and sentenced for meeting with North Korean officials and taking orders from them to overthrow the conservative president.) Korean right wing party, Conservative (Current ruling party) : Pro-America, Pro-Japan. Hates communist North. They are holding the American flag to show their belief in Korea-US alliance. **The Cold War never ended in Korea.

I am not Korean, too, but I know some problems that happened during his presidency. Just to name two on top of my head: He has a problematic wife, and things happened to other ppl when investigating his wife. He insisted on moving his residential to another area, taking all the law enforcement to protect him, ending up the Itaewon Halloween tragedy taking place.
