I realize you did this to show-case some of your lawncare devices and techniques, but it was really kind of you to do this. I gave a thumbs up just for how nice it was for you to spend a few hours and some gas money to mow for these people. I have struggled for the past few years trying to keep my yard looking nice. My husband left me and my son and now I am a single mom that doesn't make much money. Over and over again I get screwed over by people selling me bogus mowers that blow up after just a few uses. I do not have the time or the cash to put into a good mower that lasts. People in my neighborhood just stare from their porches while I struggle, and sometimes just fall down in the middle of my yard and cry. But they sure will complain if the Johnson Grass gets more than six inches. Sometimes I look out my windows as they mow and PRAY one of them will take pity and slide over and mow mine. But no one ever does. Speaking from my perspective that isn't anywhere as desperate as losing my house to a fire; I can tell you that you brought tears of joy to those people who own that house. Maybe put a fence around your place and get a few sheep, and a big old goat. See if they like the way it's always trimmed and your trees are kept up high enough to comfortably walk under. Something tells me they just might offer to help you in exchange for getting rid of the critters.

As someone who experienced a condo fire, I can say it’s truly a blessing to have someone do something so nice and selfless. I can’t speak for this particular home owner but I know what it’s like to be displaced while trying to figure out your living conditions and make decisions about what to do next. It’s very stressful. Dude! I am a disabled woman who LOVED doing the lawn in the past. I would still be doing the lawn if I could. My hubby, whose job it is now to do the lawn, does NOT enjoy it like I do.

I used to work as a mechanic at a Stihl dealer. A factory rep told me to store excess trimmer line in a bucket of water. He said that it keeps it from drying out and becoming brittle. Seems you have some extra line so it may be worth giving it a try.

Ill tell you that as someone who spent most of my teens mowing lawns in my small town, a quarter of them were like this. Cutting grass specifically for old people yields these kinds of lawns.
