I want to start your program but work full time and only have a 50 gallon tank sprayer. I believe in your products and wish I can include all that you do. I did buy another storage unit to hold more product. Hoping to get my math right for next year and hanging the minds of my customers.

Shane I started using John products with great results. I to work full time and have 25 accounts (290 k) and use a 50 gallon sprayer. I have also purchased a used permagreen and now use the sprayer as a nurse tank.

Question!? I saw a video from the grass factor about the rooting cycle where roots grow and feed the soil by dying. Is this the concept with the rgs? To get more carbon into the soil via root death? Is that the fastest way to improve soil carbon?

I studied the chemical equation (which was difficult to figure out and balance to work) in chemistry class in college. At the time was a very big scientific break through. The problem was that it was abused and as you mentioned, the result was the dust bowl!

Straight forward question, if I do not test my soil.... what practices can I put in place that will help neutralize my situation. Let’s face it, to a diy homeowner, we might not have the time/know about/ or even want to do a test, what practices could be implemented to make the situation the best with out the knowledge of a test?
@badpilotnobooze6 жыл бұрын
I think the concept here, is that there is no way to answer that question with out knowing where the starting point is. (hence a soil test). I too am a DIYer and I assure you getting a soil test can seem like an arduous process but its actually quite simple. It consists of digging with normal garden tools and placing in a bag and sending to the company. The test itself is less than $30 and is really all you'll need for the year (suggest you do it at least once a year for optimum health). They send you an email with the results. Super simple. Ive used them for water analysis and will do the same with my soil. and I'm no pro either... just a guy who wants to do the right thing for my lawn for as little money as possible. No sense in putting down a bunch of things because Scotts says too... like John was saying, soil can only be 100%, if you put too much of one thing, soil has to push out something else....Soil test helps make the decision on what to put down a more educated one.
@davedozer72006 жыл бұрын
Simple may not be the best answer. Like John said in the video, it was simple to add nitrogen to the soil. What happened when people did that? If you get a soil test, you may find out you have been wasting money on nitrogen.
@TheGreenerLawn6 жыл бұрын
Sad Trombone and BeerdedRooster thank you both for your responses, very valid points. As a counter point, soil tests have never been main stream lawn care tools .... not even (in my area anyways) professional lawn care companies will administer a soil sample.... but I see lots (millions ?)of solid .... very solid looking lawns.... so this has to be due to some common cultural practice that can be enhanced without a soil test? Thank you both!

This is where the law of minimum, maximum, and history play in. If you have consistently applied NPK or just a single one of those, I guarantee everything else is deficient and feeding minor elements and amendments will be all you need. It holds true with anything, if you havent done it... it probably needs it

how do you think your products would work on growing cannabis? This is a serious question. Say RGS, Humic 12, Micro Green, etc....
@Lawncology6 жыл бұрын
In the past, the most common product used on cannabis is 4-0-2 floragreene. You need very little depending on the growing medium. One ounce per plant per week in soil and drops per gallon of hydroponic solution

Would it hurt to throw down some gypsum and epsom salts once a yr just to keep up the calcium and magnesium levels ?
@Lawncology6 жыл бұрын
Mike Greene no, but establishing what’s there first before doing it would be ideal. That way you don’t tip something the wrong way

Thanks sir. You have one of the few opinions that aren't as bias and I respect that. I know everyone is trying to sell something so it's hard to sift through what's ideal and what's just extra. domyown.com search post emergent. only two types grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds. Should find what you're looking for there. and No mulching doesn't affect that necessarily. (As long as you're cutting before seed heads emerge. Keep to short and mow often!

Any idea, do you have to get anything special to ship it? Or do you just pull your 15-20 cores and toss them in a gallon ziplock bag and ship it off? This looks great.
