It is important for us to note that while our economy has been in distress these past few years, we have to look at how Trump inherited a good economy from Obama and did nothing during his term to keep it up. He actually passed the "Tax Cuts and Jobs" Act, which sounds great, but it gave tax breaks to the 1% and giant corporations leaving the rest of us to pay. This act was passed at the End of Trump's term, so it went into effect at the beginning of Biden's term. Biden has been cleaning up the mess that Trump created, and though slowly, things are starting to get better. As a Filipino, I am sure you have a large nursing community-- Biden/Harris have already capped the price of insulin to $35 a month and just announced that 10 more prescription costs will be lowered via Medicare-- a huge win against big pharma. As a mom of 5, I am sure you would be happy to know that Kamala plans to expand the child tax credit, which will help families save money and support their kids. And she has announced that she will prosecute companies who illegally price gouge so that prices remain fair in a competitive market. All of these are good things, especially for the average family like yours and mine.

I understand you, but for me it’s the other way around, I fear. Trump’s character scares me, frankly. More so than in previous years because this time around he really seems to only want to work with people who will agree with everything he does. Even popular republican senators who might have critiqued him once (Kemp in Georgia) get bullied by him now. I couple that with his association with project 2025, his in my opinion despicable remarks about women through the years, not conceding the last election, his talking about Putin and Kim Jun as ‘great bosses’, his over the top rants about ‘3rd world country’ and ‘communism’ and democrats being ‘very bad people’. Every politician will have some good and some bad policies I think, but a bad character can have severe consequences and cause even more division than we already have.
