Lynn Dicky had one of the greatest, most accurate arms in NFL history. He had zero mobility though with so many injuries and surgeries. He truly loved the game. He is still one of my favorite Packers

Seriously? Favre was arguably the toughest quarterback in NFL history. He took some serious beatings, but nobody crushed Favre. He earned a great deal of respect from opposing defensive players and if you were to ask LT he would most likely say the same thing
@tempest200006 жыл бұрын
Nah. Dickey won the game. He led a great comeback and won. And he knocked LT square in the mouth on James Lofton’s touchdown run. He’s really unfortunately forgotten in Packers History. Everyone remembers Starr, Favre and Rodgers. But in that dark period from 1972-1992, Lynn Dickey and that flashy offense was one of the few gleams of light. That team had one of the best offenses in GB history. Dickey was a very powerful QB, kind of a mix between Dan Fouts and Dan Marino. Then they had HOF WR James Lofton who went on the play with the Bills. Then they had former Air Coryell star John Jefferson who brought a certain energy that GB desperately needed. Then they had All Pro TE Paul Coffman who was a huge playmaker. Not to mention a strong tandem of RBs in Gerry Ellis and Eddie Lee Ivery and you have a recipe for a hell of a offense. From 81-84, this was a team who could stand up (offense wise) to the best in the league. Just ask Joe Theismann and the reigning Super Bowl Champ 83 Redskins. Problem was their defense was shit. Like really really bad. Like worse than GBs current defense. And that’s saying a lot. They had a few talented guys in pass rushers Mike Douglas and John Anderson and D lineman Ezra Johnson, but as a whole the defense was bad. If he had a competent defense, they’d have won a Super Bowl or two.

@@howardcosell2022 29 picks and probably 20 of them bc he was about to get killed or was speared in the back from the blindside while throwing. I pride myself on evaluating QB's, and had this cat stayed anywhere near healthy, Dickey (in a pas 1st offense) would be in the 50 thousand yard club.... when it was difficult to throw for 40-50 thou in a career. Give dickey a Healthy pair of knees in a west coast offense for 10 years and he'd be considered for the Hall, seriously.

When Lynn Dickey could stand up and see the field, he was a dangerous quarterback with great receivers. However, he could not run. My grandma could have outran him. No foot speed at all.

Paul Johnson That’s not his fault. In 78, he got his leg broken which really affected his speed. If you go back and find some early tape of him in early 78 or 77, he much more mobile.

Amadis Demitrius He came back and knocked down LT on James Lofton’s Touchdown run. And he was a really good QB. He’s unfortunately forgotten in history because of how bad the teams he played on were and his legacy is over shadowed by Favre and a certain other QB who wears the number 12. From 81-84, Green Bay had a Top 5 ranked offense. Easily one of the best in the league, right there with the 49ers, Redskins, and Chargers. Problem was their defense was considered the worst in the defense. They only had 4 good players on defense. Pass rushers Mike Douglas and John Anderson, D lineman Ezra Johnson and Saftey Mark Murphy. Everyone else was shit. Dickey had to make up for it with his talent and GB’s dynamic offense. Problem was they’d lose like 5 games a year by 7 points of less cause the defense couldn’t make a stop.
