When Lawrence Welk began his TV show in 1955, it was as a 13-week summer replacement. Most TV critics predicted the show would indeed end at the conclusion of that summer, criticizing the show for being too square and corny. The joke was on them, as the show ran 27 years and was one of the most successful music programs in the history of American television.

I just wish more of the songs were recorded and available -- and that these programs were available on DVDs or streaming.

Do you have the opening sequence to Season 5 of Austin City Limits from 1980? Beginning with a shot of the Austin skyline, truck coming into view and driving down the road, passing a house with "HOWDY" written on it, backing up the cattles, waving at a cowboy riding on a horse, a shot of a longhorn, a truck comes in as a man jumps out of the fence, people getting in the back of a truck, woman and a man laughing and driving, people sitting in the back of a truck, man laughing, truck driving down the road, woman smiling, a landscape on a truck's window, camera pans up from a cactus to see a truck driving down the road, truck driving through a bridge, truck getting splashed with water, woman and a man driving, a shot of the Austin skyline, back of the truck driving by as a guy waves his arm up in the air, camera pans to see the Austin City Limits sign, and the camera zooming in on the Austin City Limits sign.👍
