Lawrence Carpenter, bike racer and now film maker. You have come such a long way as a film maker, congratulations on the achievement. And then there is the journey. Keep up the great work.

You're ability to build and connect a story makes the the vlogs that much more enjoyable. Again - great vid and enjoy this adventure. Being in my 60's these kinds of adventures, aside from family, are truly the memories that are the most cherished.

Hey, Carpenter, you the man (along with James and Francis)! Epic rides and great presentation. I've been to Death Valley. Be careful dealing with the heat. Keep the spirit going. Will be watching and enjoying your progress. Things will get better and a lot cooler in a few days.

Nothing prepares you for 40C heat, except many days of 40C heat. It's much more of a survival skill, than a challenge. Don't second guess how you feel in the heat. You guys made the right decision with a break in Las Vegas.
@bbikerlawrence6 жыл бұрын
Crazy heat that's for sure.
@robbchastain30366 жыл бұрын
I'm really enjoying your videos, Lawrence, they nicely fill in the spaces and compliment the works of Francis. And don't forget, if you guys go crazy from the heat, just remember, you signed up for this. Don't even think you can blame us for boring desert stretches and oppressive temperature readings and closed taco stands.

Another great video. If you hadn't realized it from the two days on the bike the A-Star ride should have clearly spelled out that you are in a very large and unforgiving bit of the country. This video series will prove to be your masterpiece. Enjoy the ride to Parump....

One of my favorites Lawrence , your editing and music choices are spot on . I do see the hangover reference , as long as a nude Asian guy doesn't fall out of the trunk of the cab you were in you will be ok . Although three skinny blokes riding road bikes with skinny tires from England landing in the hottest place on the third rock from the sun , there is a movie deal here somewhere . If you are going to travel the desert I urge you to do it at night , the clear dark skies will reveal a universe you may have never seen before ..

Do you think going tubeless might have helped? I'm sure someone else must have suggested it by now.
@robbchastain30366 жыл бұрын
Or running bigger tires with tire liners like Mr. Tuffy. And some sealant in the tubes and didn't that originate with the desert racers and all those pesky thorns? Something like that, as I recall. But we all live and learn and apply our experiences to the road ahead, and surely the three amigos will make the necessary adjustments and do what works for them.

Bad ass video Dude! What sort of patches were you using... just wondering because heat is harsh here in OZ and I am wondering what to avoid.. :) Also why are none of you going tubeless? Stay hydrated, get heaps of vitamins, salt and carbs... avoid buying an orangutan, getting intimidated by the giant lizards and look out for the GIANT BATS!

I'm thinking if you patched the tiers at the hotel and then let them dry for 8 hrs the patches would have lasted? But maybe not. So how was that beef jerky that James ate responsible for his severe cramping? I Told you you were going to feel heat like never before! you need time to acclimatize to severe weather. You couldn't cornier some tubes to where you were? Would have been cheaper than a cab I bet ( u probably used UBAR :-( ) So did you just drink bear in Vegas? I bet there's a nice bike shop there somewhere? Well on the road again!

Have you considered anything smaller to edit the vlogs ? Apple air or just upload the content to the cloud and have a mate edit and upload ? are there cloud servers you can install the SW and use ? I would want to be riding with minimum electronics on board. Cheers Andy
@bbikerlawrence6 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, there is really no smaller alternative to edit such large files on. Nor do we have the resource to have someone else edit for us (the WiFi wouldn’t enable us to do so anyway). It’s a pretty clunky amount of kit but has proven to be worthwhile.
@SteveStearns4 жыл бұрын
Why were you going through so many tubes? Heat and debris?
@bbikerlawrence4 жыл бұрын
Basically the heat made the tyres go totally soft. Like chewing gum, so anything on the road was creating punctures !
@SteveStearns4 жыл бұрын
@@bbikerlawrence Thanks. I lived in Arizona for a while it the extreme heat in the summers created issues there too.
