Thank you counsel Jenny : ). i have a question though in the case of Bourhill v Young, i failed to understand the courts ratio decidendi because in my view Mrs Bourhill was gave birth to a still to be born baby because of the aftermath caused by the defendant. How was her claim dismissed . Unless the courts were trying to use the principle in the case of Alock v Chief Constable of Yorkshire to say the proximity was too vague?

There was definitely a proximity issue
