Lawsuit filed against Georgia Dept. of Labor for delayed unemployment payments

How about people who are supposed to receive benefits weekly, but instead get payments once in a while and still haven't received the payments that are backlogged? There's no one to contact at the DoL. It's ridiculous.

Yeah houses cars potential jobs they fucked up and just made to where anyone anywhere could get a 8 to 15000 dollar check then the people like and everyone that got fucked that didn't want use let alone abuse the system finally attempt to get emergency help we need that make you wait a year until ur BYE DATE so they can forget about you again if they allow u to keep your account open as long as u keep filing new everywhere for a job even if u have one and if u turn down the job they take ur benefits and make u replay everything from Jan till present that that have paid u idk if people actually read all the updates but some of the shit they are doing is fucked and people just don't see it cuz they just see the 10000 they got for free with no chance of getting cought because the dol was slipping. What's funny if you consider the fact they can drop here unemployment If you deny a job that they're going to give you through a website that I guarantee you is paying the Georgia department of Labor for the traffic to the job site it's like ga realized they fucked up and gave money to the wrong places and they are pressuring people to use a non government site that uses spam mail basically to get you on a job site generating revenue for Georgia department of Labor for forced add funneling by threatening not to give you anything you have applied for up to date I've read all the updates about transferring over the bye date and refiling to receive past compensation but whose to say half off us never gonna see our accounts again someone needs to be held responsible for this bs for all the people that actually needed help but because we didn't file week one o well

People want to know why more Americans are depressed, just take a look at this situation. A person deals with stress of losing their job, only to deal with the stress of getting the run around by the agency responsible for issuing the unemployment insurance OWED to them...Its OWED, not a friggin favor! It should be a crime.

By state law if a suit is tied up in the court system they have to continue paying benefits until terms are reached in other words if Georgia Department of Labor stops paying benefits on June 27th not only will they be committing fraud but they will also be acting in violation directly against court orders which in the state of Georgia is a felony

Yes, the State of GA will be violating Federal Law if they refuse to pay PUA, so those lawsuits should get going soon -- assuming the RED Governor is really as determined as he says to hurt the citizens of the Great State of Georgia.

There have been over 1400 class action lawsuits against the Georgia Department of Labor and not one single case has been given a court date yet

Attorneys I talked to said it was a process and I had to wait my time. Meanwhile the bill still have to be paid and the children still have to be fed. While the government lies and says they care about the Citizens and there family but they giving the money to the illegals come and crossed the border.

@@1031samw & that process will make most people weary & discouraged to maintain the course to completion. An attorney once told me, it is an uphill battle trying to sue one state agency with another state agency. To the point, I wasn't given much counsel after that. So it's nice to hear someone was able to get farther than I did!

Im in Ga.Trying to find me one.Ive been waiting on Pua sense Nov.2020.Denied regular unployement.Paper states Covid19 wasnt a good enough reason to quit my job.What a joke.Ive have been a CNA.for 22 i worked in a place that 98% was postive and my kids school has been closed most the year...but the exaimer didnt think it was a good enough reason.So appealed that.Then was approved Pua .I sent in all the information they ask.Then start getting emails and letters that was. saying definite things They have made a mess out of my claim.Last letter i got said i was going to receive pua payment.Its July no payment yet.I need help!😞

I too have been waiting since October 2020... Appealed, been kick out my account, recaptha thingy not working, unanswered emails.. you name it. I had gave up ( as it’s designed to make you)... BUT!! But wait! I don’t know “who” and “what” lit a FIRE under Georgia Dept of Labor’s asssss, but I received every single dime I worked for and the PUA in a lump sum.. a few weeks ago! Do not stop claiming your weeks! You hear me? It’s coming. I understand it’s difficult..🙌🏾 God knows I do, but you hold on ok Demetria? And FYI: though I didn’t join, there’s a class action suit already in place against them. It’s headed by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Google the local branch.

I'm going to file a law suit against those department of labor criminals. I filed in April of 2020 and still can't get anyone on the phone. I filed appeals last fall, winter and 3 weeks ago but only got a generic email back for the last one. They sent me a little debit card despite the fact that I gave them back account info but no money on it or news on my appeal. It's over 14 months and this is still an issue with zero accountability. I've been working with congressman Jodi Hices office and the governors office trying to get help but all they can do is send an email called an escalation but it's not helping. You can call once a day, five times a day or a hundred times a day and you'll never get through. I'm not going to sue for the money they owe me I'm going to sue for one hundred million dollars because it's not just the money it's the damage shutting down a state and cutting off income does to one's life. These criminals deserve what's coming.

I emailed them several times my request for the pua backlogged & no response. I figure since payments did start that it was fine until it was announced the early discontinuation which more than likely guarantee I won't received those payments.

@@jw1415 in my experiences & observations particularly in state positions, you have longevity as long as u don't rock the boat too much & start making the heads uncomfortable. You can make as many mistakes & this appears to be just that.

@@demetriahill273 You are right, other states are getting unemployment reinstated and I don't know why the rest of the states are not having someone fighting for us. I'm looking for a lawyer but no luck as of yet. If I do I will come and contact all who would want to get added if all possible.

After two years of waiting I finally have a appeals court date to received my unemployment compensation that was rightfully mines. I hope this gives someone hope for all the hard days we had to endure durning the pandemic & still are enduring.
