A police chief confessed to destroying evidence, but he was doing it to protect his staff...or so he says. What's the truth? Was this a witch hunt? Or a case of terrible judgement?

10 days, this cop got 10 days for stealing countless amounts of drugs. Not just drugs, but also evidence. SCORES of cases damaged, and drugs stolen. 10 days. That's some amazing "higher standard" that I keep being told police are held to. In reality, as we can see here, police have little to no standards are are for sure not held tot a higher one.

This system was willing to give the chief 10 days for stealing COUNTLESS amounts of evidence and having them destroyed, yet, if I were to do the same thing, I would get years in prison. Prosecutors these days have little to no guts when it comes to prosecuting corrupt police officers, and would rather keep a good relationship with them rather than preserve fairness and justice. If we want to see corrupt officials being held accountable for real, I think it's time that we ask the system, or maybe vote, to have prosecutors grow some backbone. We as Americans are sick and tired of the hypocrisy and favoritism that it's showing. The only way to provide accountability is to give a punishment that fits the crime.

This reminds me of the court case for an insurance claim against fire. A man bought 10 cigars worth $250 K as an investment. He decided he could smoke just one and sell the rest. Before he knew it he had smoked them all and he had to repay the money he borrowed to invest with. He filed an insurance claim and in court, his attorney said that several sequential fires caused the loss and the judge agreed. On his way out of court, the police arrested him for committing arson 10 times. Some times it's just better to take the loss.
