I can truly appreciate his breakdown of how weak Cas piece portends to be. However, lets remember that its a RICO case. Its not all about Cas part in it. If they show him as part of a criminal organization, he is exposed to severe legal jeopardy relative to what the other information is on hand, and what his CoD's offer as a part of their plea deal. Cas individual case doesn't need to be strong in terms of defense. Its a RICO case. If he is proven to be involved at all, he can face the exact same charges as anyone else in the organization. He is about to be the tallest tree left in a windstorm.

One thing people don’t understand is that you need at least 2 lawyers for a jury trial. 1st lawyer should know the law, loopholes etc etc the 2nd lawyer is the mouthpiece that relays the message to the jury in a simple yet slick way. Usually lawyers are one of the other that’s why you need at least 2 min for a serious case. When it comes time for jury deliberation, 8/12 jury members not gonna remember the specifics. But conspiracy charges are a whole other ball game.

You present a case, get the warrants, make the arrests, and then pressure guys to turn states evidence to take a plea deal. 95% of RICO cases never go to trial. That's why they got rid of federal probation to have more leverage against defendants.

When a lot of these guys get denied bail after arraignment, they can’t hang in county and take whatever the DA offers so they can get processed to state prison.
