The history of the relationship of Israel and Palestine has been one of the creation of a 'Greater' Israel at the expense of the Palestinian people. The fact that Israel has many western governments in its back pocket, Britain and the US in particular, suggests that there is a long way to go before one can hope to see justice for the Palestinians.

You are regurgitating a common and erroneous accusation that Israel is an occupying power. Below is some information to debunk this misconception. It is a common mistake to believe that Israel's 1948 Declaration of Independence was predicated on the 1947 General Assembly Partition Resolution 181(II). This belief is not factually accurate. The resolution was not adopted under Chapter 7 of the United Nations Charter and, consequently, did not possess legally binding force. Moreover, the resolution's outright rejection by the Arab League rendered it effectively null and void. The establishment of the State of Israel was fundamentally based on the universal principle of international law known as 'uti possidetis juris.' This principle dictates that newly-formed sovereign states inherit the legal borders of their preceding sovereign entities. In Israel's case, this included the borders of the British Mandate for Palestine as of 1948, encompassing, in part, the Gaza Strip, the entire City of Jerusalem, and the West Bank. Upon adopting its Declaration of Independence, the State of Israel legitimately acquired title over these territories. Another fundamental principle relevant to the creation of the State of Israel is the equal applicability of law. It is necessary to recognize that the legal principle 'uti possidetis juris,' originating in Roman Law, has been applied multiple times over the past two centuries, providing a legal foundation for the creation of various state entities, including Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, which in turn also emerged from Mandates. Consequently, denying Israel its rightful status based on the 'uti possidetis juris' principle jeopardizes the statehood and legitimacy of many United Nations member states. No international legal entity would permit such a precedent. As a result of the belligerent and illegal invasion by Arab forces in 1948, the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem were occupied by Egypt and Jordan. This occupation led to the ethnic cleansing of the Jewish population and the desecration or destruction of Jewish cemeteries and synagogues. During the 1967 war, instigated by Egypt and Jordan, Israel reclaimed these territories and reinstated its rightful ownership over them. Contrary to widely regurgitated assertions, the movement of 700,000 Israelis to Judea and Samaria (aka West Bank) was not a result of governmental relocation efforts. This is a crucial consideration in the context of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which pertains to the deportation or transfer of populations. It is widely acknowledged that these individuals were driven by their personal ideologies and religious beliefs, choosing to settle in these regions of their own volition. Indeed, many Jews from various countries have pursued their aspiration to establish a Jewish presence in areas of historical and religious significance, such as Judea and Samaria, commonly referred to as the West Bank. Consequently, labeling these individuals as 'illegal occupiers' or 'colonizers,' and suggesting that the Israeli government 'forced' them into these areas, is a profound mischaracterization of the situation. Such descriptions fail to recognize the autonomous decision-making and personal motivations that underlie their settlement in these regions. Thus, within the context of the war in Gaza, Israel is fully in consensus with international laws and has not only the right to defend itself but also a responsibility to do so in order to protect its own citizens and peace in the region.

Piplines Blows Up, Industry leave the Land, Electricy Production turned off with the danger for a complete Black Out. Weapons and others given away to others. One landscape are destroy (Arnthal) and nobody rebuild this the last years. Germans makes protests about the Gouverment must resign in Berlin. They doesnt support the Gouverment and now the Gouverment attempt to delete the Fundamental right for free Opinion. Many Germans they doesnt support the Gouverment are hunted. Lost Jobs or lost the Bank Account when they Spend Money to support Oppositions. I have see the Pictures from the German Gouverment in Dessau. I have see what he have on the Head.... and the Gouverment said all with other Opinion are right-wing extremist. Thats all what my Opionion makes more and more stronger. That is NOT a German Gouverment.

We Germans can tell a difference, this is complex issue though. Not sure what you mean by us being "thick" but given our history and "Staatsräson" we feel obliged to support Israel no matter what and no one wants to be called antisemitic. Hence you get uncritical support for Israel's right to self defence to an absurd degree, making us supporters of a genocide in the process. It's distrubing and shameful, yet not exclusive to Germany and the amount historicly illiterate and germanophobic comments here is also worrisome. Very few seem to be capable of nuanced though and grasp what is actually going on...

@@iliketoast-q9b no one said we should ignore them. But Germany surely should have learnt by now given the many genocides they've been involved in.
@iliketoast-q9b7 ай бұрын
@@Vhlathanosh It's not that simple now is it? Due to our history our government feels that it is our duty to support Israel almost no matter what, rather than criticise its actions or question its motives and to do so would be falsely seen as antisemitic. So this genocide is neither perpetrated by Germany nor deliberately supported with genocidal intent. It's a felt responsibility to support Israel due to our history, precisely because we've learned from our history, but in this case the path to hell is paved with good intentions.

@@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeings any Jewish political revival that is not messianic intrinsically represents a denial of divine providence and of the hope of redemption; it is a betrayal of the destiny and uniqueness of Israel. The attempt to hasten the End, to return by physical power to the sphere of politica, and certainly military history, is a collective revolt against the kingdom of heaven, an aggressive aspiration to overstep human boundaries into the realm reserved for God - just like the deeds of the generation of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). This is an act of the devil, a demonic outburst of unclean forces that may not be corrected. It is ultimately doomed to failure, regardless of human deeds: “The Lord shall rebuke you - the Satan who has chosen Jerusalem” (paraphrasing Zechariah 3:2).

Where and when in history an occupier has the right of self defense??
@talmudovsky7 ай бұрын
