Cracking job. Just been reading all the comments and got a few questions. What is the hosepipe you used? Do you find the flow enough on the pump? I like the additional of the check valve. The TH16 is controlling the 3 way valve? Pump is running all the time?

This is pretty good. Nice job... How is the copper piping holding up to the chlorine in the water? Chlorine is usually corrosive to copper, I'm told.

I love this idea. I live in a little crooked cottage so mains down to the garden would be a nightmare and I’d expect overload the system with how much juice a lazy spa uses. Have you found the lpg to be a cost effective solution?

It is cheaper than electric. Simply because it only takes 50 mins to heat up the tub. Electric took all day and night.

Hi Paul, great setup, im going to copy this. But one question. Your Gas heater/geiser is doing 8L a minute on max i think. It's turned down to minimum so dunno how much it will do then. How much liter per minute is the pump doing? Im wondering about this because, if your in the pool, you dont want 60c water on your back. It will harm people. Any idea how warm the water gets out of the hose? And how fast do you get to temperature with this setup? 2 hours rougly i think? Have you tried turning the gas higher or does it get too hot then? I can imagine the pump is the limiting factor here? Or is it the waterflow / valve of the heater? Doenst the pump overpressure the heater? Im thinking of a intex sand filterpump in combination with a salt system to use for chlorine. The mini version of intex does 2m3 of water per hour. Thats around 33.33 liter a minute, thats a lot more then the gas heater. You think it will work with this Intex pump? ANother problem is, if you turn it off its off, you cant use the smart switch with this pumpfilter. So im thinking about a "stupid" on/off sandfilterpump. Thx in advance for the answers.

@@batusaiprbatusaipr7664 I made the tub out of a Tractor Supply, 300 gallon tank and used a 5L "On demand hot water heater: (Marey), and a Surflo 12volt pump. I did not want to cut holes in tank so I just put the intake line in the tank and the water is sucked up by the pump (powered by a 100 watt solar panel and 35 amph battery). I took the shower head off attachment that comes with the water heater so water just flows back into tank. I have 3-viedos at serentiy farms prepping on "redneck hot tub". What kind of cost savings are there using propane as opposed to electricity?
@FrequencyOfThought3 жыл бұрын
It's only a few cents with liquid natural gas or propane coming in only at about a dollar per 35 dollars spent to heat per unit / every 35 dollars spent in heat energy turns out gas is only a buck or so cheaper in most areas depending where you live.. That's not what it's really about it's that the unit can command hot water and raise the temperature of the pool to usable temperature in 20-30 minutes versus half a day for the weak little "warmer" that comes with it... Plus when you pull the cover off that little heater you lose heat in about 30-45 minutes. So if you wanted to spend a couple hours sitting in your hot tub that wouldn't work. Plus you add the "air bubbles" from these kinds of pumps/heater combo units and it cools the water down to warm bath water levels in minutes... Real fun! I like piping hot water for long as I can stand it.. That's why you do this. It makes your hot tub 110% better.... It's the cheapest way to have the convenience of a super hot hot tub without having a really expensive one or having to keep it hot all the time etc. Most people just keep the other unit plugged in to filter , warm the pool and make bubbles with the glorified leaf blower that's in it , a normal hot tub uses "jets" and high hp pumps the jet the water.. This is a fake poor mans hot tub.. Honestly I think a custom built unit with propane heaters is totally worth it even tho it's all kind of tacky and a lot to put up with.

I used a 18litre 36kw gas heater. I modified the burn chamber so that it can be used inside a summerhouse. Has a flue pipe out through the roof of the summerhouse. I modified the Egg so that i can still use the controls on top of the Egg to control the tub temperature. Filter pump ,timer and bubbles. I can also use the Egg pump to filter the water whilst it is heating. I took out the ceramic heater and replaced it with a 240volt to 12 volt power supply. ie the 240 volt supply that originally powered the ceramic heater now powers the power supply. That power supply runs a 12 volt pump that runs through the gas heater. The pipes from the gas heater are tee connected inside the Egg so i dont have any pipes dangling inside the tub. I also installed a module timer that resets the boiler every 15 minutes so that it avoids the 20 minute inbuilt shut off timer in the boiler. Mine raises the temp in the tub 20 degrees an hour. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imjOfKqIg5qgadk
