Sanjay C- you have an amazing voice. This was the 1st time I heard you singing, I love your singing - a million times more than everything else on your channel. Not a fan of your mixing, sometimes you mix with way too much compression, on your spoken voice, which I absolutely abhor. But hearing your singing voice was such a surprise. I’m a teacher, so I can see when someone has what it takes to keep people’s attention and communicate a message. Dudeeeee???!! Are you ever gonna do a covers album? All your remakes are 🔥. Even with this one when you showed yourself multiplied doing the different vocal arrangements would make for a good video as you could wear different costumes, one with the glasses, one without and disguises for each person. Can make it funny by filming your pets by the mic as to be harmonizing with everyone. You can even give each person different names. One person could be Sanjay D and another Sanjay E, etc. Would make for an entertaining video. The mic sounds good but it really shows off at the 4:50 marks as you see the effects with it acapella instead of with the music. When you show the original with acapella and then then the improved version with the music it kind of deceptive in getting the real value. Like those picture adds for aging cream with the before picture has no make up on and then the picture after they used the product they got makeup and lipstick with a gown on like Cinderella is ready to go to the ball. Those adds do extra to kinda cheat to enhance the value that makes it seem skeptical. I'm glad at the 4:50'ish mark you show the effect straight up. 👍
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Haha! Such great ideas! Yeah, its sometimes tough to hear a mic with effects added to it - but then without effects, you can't really get an idea of how it sounds in a final mix. Catch 22, right?

Thanks for the tips Sanjay, you are the best! I'm going to try some harmonies today! By the way, the Earthworks mic is directly into the interface or do you use an external preamp?
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Hey let me know how it works for you. No preamp...directly into the interface. I wanted you to hear the mic directly.

How do people like me can start without a music background and what do they need? What equipment, software and plugins are needed to get started
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Hey, you should check out my video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5rEgnuEaZqlrqc. That'll tell you what you need to get started. If you have no music background, try listening to songs out there and copying what they do. Also try using samples (you can get some free ones at looperman.com).

Sanjay, how did you do the video parts? Did you record the vocal and film it at the same time, the edit all the tracks afterward? Which video editing software do you use? Thanks.
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim. I recorded each part and filmed at the same time. But I had to do several takes so some of the video may not match the actual take I chose in the end. :-) I'm not a perfect singer/actor! haha! I use Final Cut Pro on Mac. Its quick and pretty easy.

Hey man, do you have a step by step video on how to install a vst plug ins? from downloading -> installing -> extracting/zipping to putting it in the DAW software (Reaper e.g.) Thanks Cheers!
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
I don't really have a video on that. It should be seamless. Once you install, you just find it in your list of VSTs in Reaper. The only other thing you may need to do is set the folder in Reaper preferences (just in case Reaper didn't look in the right place)

6:34 How do I Make the plugins look 3D ?
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Actually, that's a trick I just discovered. The timeline in Ableton is moving and my camera is moving, so it looks like the plugin is 3D. Super cool, right?

Thats great Sanjay, Any tips for Pitch and Formant transposition in Logic x? I can find the time and pitch shifter but not sure about formant adjusting. Thanks
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Logic Vocal Transformer has a formant shifter on the right side.

@@SanjayC Do you have a video where I can learn how to use one? Thank you so much! Love the content!
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Once you connect it to you computer and load a virtual instrument, you can just start hitting the notes and you'll hear the instrument.

Can you make a video on how to bring out the best out of any microphone no matter the budget?
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Record in a quiet room (that doesn't have lots of reverb/echo - maybe a room with lots of furniture). And then here's how to process the vocals in a simple way kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6OqeoOCdq6jr5Y

Do you use Ableton and Logic, or just Ableton?
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Just Ableton. But every now and then I open Logic just for tutorials.
