Layering Guitar Parts - Acoustics

In this video, I explain my technique for layering acoustic guitar parts in a song. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

High quality stuff. Noob question 1) why are there so many tracks?! And 2) any chance of a video on building a track from scratch? Like, which bit gets recorded first, how it all ties up together?

Hi Paul great video as always. I noticed your acoustic can be plugged in but you chose to record it with a mic. What's the reason for that and is it standard practice when recording acoustic guitar?

Cheers, no not at all, the bass notes were a tiny bit short and staccato for me so I spent hours time stretching them.

I’ve never tried them. To be completely honest I’ve never heard of acoustic ones.
