I was just about to layer some bricks 600 to see if it’ll work and happen to pop up your video on KZbin. Good video now I know I can go forward and the best way to explain. What are you do for brick 600 some customers that don’t know. I explain to them it’s like a leather belt.
@threadchemistry
@threadchemistry Жыл бұрын
Glad you found this video! I actually just tell everyone from the beginning that it's a raised silicone. If I build a relationship with the customer with return orders I will end up telling them it's really just another form of vinyl just as a fun fact. I've never had a single question or complaint from others that I just don't end up getting a chance to tell them it's not actually silicone. To 99.9% of people as long as it looks good they don't care what it actually is, and it makes it so much easier to explain that way from the beginning..

Now my question is, how come you didn’t just cut out the letters off the black vinyl instead of layering?
@threadchemistry
@threadchemistry Жыл бұрын
Because the customer wanted to have 2 layers. Since it is risen, it just gives it that little extra rise. Plus this was just an example. So you could use multiple different colors to make a design which wont always be the same color as the t shirt

@@threadchemistry I need to research if it’s ok for the printer to go in the garage due to harsh winters even though I have a mini split with heat pump, and not wanting to keep it running all winter. I don’t want to clog up the nozzles because of the dry air in there.

@@williambermudez204 I ran heat and air in my garage and have a ecobee occupancy sensor in there so it will only adjust the temp in the garage if I'm in there.. but also have a seperate heater i can run whenever, and put better seals along the garage to keep heat in.. I've worked about that before but in my last house I didn't end up having any problems.. I also have a dye sub TONER printer though. Not ink..

@threadchemistry
@threadchemistry Жыл бұрын
Ya, that does tend to happen if you have too much pressure when pressing it. Try lightening up on your pressure to where it's just enough to press it on. A lot of people think pressing harder fixes things. So maybe try that, and hopefully, it helps!! ))

Stahls soft foam is very similar top brick but would probably give you even better results...also you have a heat press that has threadability why you layered that already pressed side back on the platen is a mystery to me lol ... nice results tho

Great video Tc, i just ordered some Brick 600 can't wait to run it thru the blade. Great demo on Layering the Brick 600's. im just curious if you can disclose or give a ballpark price for The Tee that you pressed. (Client provides the tee shirt.) Thanks in advance, and once again Great work.
@threadchemistry
@threadchemistry 6 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks man. Well first off if you're just starting out (kinda sounds like?) be very careful taking in garments and letting customers supply. Told myself I'd take everything in the beginning. Won't take anything now. Friends only type of thing. If it's something you've been doing then ignore that. Ha. As for price, that's tough. Taking in garments loses all the profit from your wholesale tees if you supplied them. Take exactly the same amount of time but no up charge there. Or is it just a few? If not you need to consider your time instead of product price breakdown formulas.
@threadchemistry
@threadchemistry 6 ай бұрын
A general tee I supply with 1 color front print (for just 1) costs customer about $20. which costs me about $5 bucks total. If they supply you would have to charge them $15 each just to make same profit and to them that's $15 plus the RETAIL price of around $15 they already paid for the tee so they're adding all that up in their head to $30 for their 1 t shirt... which burns you. (These aren't considering siser brick prices) This specific shirt for 1 supplied I'd prolly charge $18.99 Hope all that helped. Bah

@threadchemistry Thanks for your response 👍. Yeah I been doing this for a bit but new to layering HTV and Puff on a single garment. Pricing sounds good. And yeah I do understand that there are a lot more factors that could change the Pricing for example Size of the Image and On how complex image is. Your input is well taken and it's reasonable. Once again Thank You. Looking forward to checking out more of your work. Thanks

Can you layer puff on brick and brick on flock? Looking to do a 3 layer 3D effect of old school letterman jacket letter. (1st layer on shirt flock, 2nd brick, top layer puff.)
@threadchemistry
@threadchemistry Жыл бұрын
So I actually did this the other day for a customer of mine because we were curious about the same thing. Technically the answer is yes, you can. It will adhere. However, the look of it is a little 'different' for lack of a better term. The best way I could describe it would be that the silicone is such a precise clean edged material and the flock is more of a rounded edge, not so 'exact' material that personally, I didn't like the way it looked. Although he did think it was kind of cool. So I guess that would be a personal preference on how it looks. I wish I could post a picture here. I would show you the outcome. But to answer your question, yes it is possible.
@mandyshoemaker8278
@mandyshoemaker8278 Жыл бұрын
@@threadchemistry thank you very much! I do understand what you are saying with the sharp edge look. I wonder if a slightly different font that is rounded for the brick would help or use a cuticle cutter (edge trimmer) to bevel the edges, if possible, could help. Obviously it would have to be a single item sell or be able to make enough on it to cover the cost of your time.
