The psych ward is the mental place where the alters can interact, where they can retreat to process things. I picked that up when I did research on Dissociative Identity Disorder. I think Jake never showed up there because he doesn't want to interact with Marc and Steven, he just wants to protect them when they're in danger and he seems to enjoy working for Khonshu. I love this show so much. I hope there's a season 2 because I want to see the three interacting and coming to an understanding because Jake has to make himself known eventually.

My take is that during the Asylum episode there was a second sarcophagus before Taweret showed up. My guess is that that was Jake wanting to get out as well.

I think that Doctor Harrow is an Alter or facet of Marc’s personality too. My theory is he represents pure logic or objectivity, there to help process their chaotic emotions in purely critical way. If I’m right, that says some things about how Marc perceives the real Harrow too. Logically sound, but too detached

i don't think Jake "enjoys" working for Khonshu. I doubt they're gonna make a Disney protagonist *that* messed up. I think so far, Khonshu has gotten Marc in control by using Layla, and in the 2nd episode, Marc told Steven something like "I serve Khonshu, and that kind of makes you one too". By holding Marc, Khonshu gains control over Steven too. But after Layla rejected Khonshu in the last episode, Khonshu lost control over Marc. I bet in Season 2, we'd get to learn about Jake's life, maybe Khonshu has something else that Jake wants. Khonshu gets to control all the alters as long as he has a deal with at least one of them.

@@iml3104 Nothing is confirmed yet until they actually make an official announcement. But it's obvious we'll get more Moon Knight in the future. They'd be out of their mind to cancel any Moon Knight appearances after that Jake Lockley tease in the finale.

@@Nolabray21 This week I looked into TheMovieReport MOON KNIGHT talk with Oscar Isaac, May Calamawy, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater - June 4, 2022. At 37:20 The presenter said at this point that she would like to see more from Jake Lockley. And then Mohamed Diab answers from the background "Very soon" very bare. ^^ Since then, I've been thinking that Moon Knight might show up in the Werewolf by Night Halloween special. In the comic there is a werewolf hunter.

I noticed that Dr. Harrow always appears when Marc finds it hard to face reality. So now that Marc and Steven merged as a whole and both can become co-concious, there is no need for Dr. Harrow any more (thus the bleeding foot steps at the end). And in the end when Steven and Marc woke up with their foot tied is because they realized that they blacked out (during the last fight) and thus they decided to tied their foot because they don't trust themselves. It's funny cause at the begining only Steven was doing that, now Marc too lol.

There are subtle hints within the series that will connect Moon Knight to the soon big baddie of the MCU, which is Kang the Conqueror. First was during the roof top scene in Egypt where Marc is fighting against the 3 guys. The young one wearing a denim jacket has a design at the back which resembles one of Kang's other persona (Rama-Tut) based on the colors of his comic costume. The second was during the end credit scene at the psych ward while Jake Lockley is pushing Arthur's wheelchair, there's another QR code where if you scan, will direct you to another Moon Knight comic where he (Marc) is fighting Kang the Conqueror. This will be the connection of most if not all the MCU movies and series moving forward. From Loki, to What If? to Multiverse of Madness, and Ant-Man: Quantumania.

1:30 I'm not sure what Carlie meant here. Khonshu isn't an alter. He's a completely different entity who has a psychic connection to Marc, and only in his adult life not his childhood. He's not part of Marc's DID. But Jake could definitely be the 'fight' response. Actually the theory that makes the most sense to me at the moment is that Marc took the emotional abuse while Jake took the physical abuse when they were young. This would explain why Jake is like that and also why he fronts only in extreme situations when even Marc can't defend the system. Jake is there to defend the system during periods of great danger for their physical safety.

I definitely think Jake fits into the role of “persecutor” Not an expert, but some people with DID have described having alters that are ‘scary’ or ‘aggressive’ to the others. Often they carry the most traumatic memories, and are threatening, angry, or harsh to protect those emotional wounds. But in the end, they are meant to function just like the rest of the system: defensively.

i absolutely love the scene when Marc goes back for Steven, and after his speech, a single heart appears in their hands because their separate hearts Taweret said were not "full", but combined they are full, completely accepting each other allowed them to function as one being also, this is 100% my favorite of the Marvel shows, and Oscar Isaac deserves an Emmy for this role

The ward scene is almost certainly the start of Marc and Steven's 'inner world'. Most DID people have a system that 'inhabits' their own inner world. It's where they talk to each other and 'reside'. The host/front alter is what most people talk to most of the time, but the other alters 'reside' in there. Now that Steven and Marc are cooperating, their 'inner world' is manifesting more, and they have more control over it, which is why their 'doubt' in the form of Harrow has less control. Think of it as the 'organizing principle' term from episode 5. That's the layman term. At least, that's my take on it.

It was important for Taweret to had met Layla's dad because he would have told her what he nicknamed his daughter his "little scarab", which Layla's superhero name is Scarlet Scarab like the red tattoo scarab on her arm and now a red scarab is on her costume's chest that Taweret made for her. The Scarlet Scarab is a superhero in the comics but a man but never met Moon Knight and the only reason that they're using this persona is because it's an Egyptian superhero. I don't think you remember in the conversation Layla had with Khotush after she broke him out of his statue, he called her a bug a little foresight to come.

My interpretation of Episode 5 (metaphors aside) - The whole psyche ward, hippo, the boat and the sand sea/desert are all real, but in the Duat dimension, like Tawaret said, "an afterlife". Inside the boat is a fluid space that takes form into whatever a soul is most accustomed too. It can be a classroom, it can be a battlefield, a home, etc. In Marc's case, it's a psyche ward. Of course with additional details that are taken inspiration from real psychology theory of "mind palace". - Everything takes place in the Duat dimension EXCEPT the office scene with Dr. Harrow which is the only thing made up in Marc/Steven/Jake's head. That's why only that scene appears at random, because it is not a part of the Duat dimension, it's in their head. Every time each alter has difficulty to cope with an emotion, they 'escaped' to the office so they could reason with themselves with Dr. Harrow as their voice of reasoning. Once they are ready, they return to the Duat dimension to explore more memories. - As for Jake, throughout the episode, he was trapped in that sarcophagus and never came out to explore the Duat dimension with the other two. But he could get to the office because it happened in his mind. Jake is the protector of both Marc and Steven, thus why he became defensive when Dr. Harrow kept asking triggering questions about "the boy". - The last time they 'visit' the office, they questioned themselves whether what they experienced was real or not. Perhaps because their mind was so fractured with so much gaps in between memories, they couldn't rely on their state of mind. Seeing Dr. Harrow bleeding represents them being convinced that it was real, as they started seeking agreement/approval from each other ("You see that?" "Yea yea I see it"). The director Mohamed Diab said he purposely makes things in loops without certainty, because the show is designed to require a second viewership.

Oscar Issacs chemistry with Oscar Issac was amazing. Layla is now "The Red Scarab", they hinted to it back when Marc/Steven first went to the mental hospital. She had the Red Scarab emblem on her pinky finger at the end of the episode. I want to she more of her as well. Also the end credit scene I think was a nice metaphor with the car, SPKTR on the incense plate. Like Marc is the car )Body), but Jake is the one driving (in Control) while Khonshu is the Boss. That's how I saw anyways. Check out New Rockstars they do great explanation vids on Marvel and Star Wars. Marvel loves to hind things in the episodes for the hardcore fans like them. All of the Marvel shows are linked to each other and the movies according to Kevin Feige.

I didn't get it until the finale, but I'd like to think the psych ward scene is a physical manifestation of Marc's self-analyses (it was "real" when he was dead, and the last part is more of an in-his-mind moment). Maybe he pretends Harrow of all people is diagnosing him because Harrow's been a source of judgment the whole season. He's antagonizing himself. The last scene felt like Marc finally coming to terms with accepting who he is, despite the broken mind. While I think all Marvel show finales have been rushed, this was def my fave finale so far but I wish they gave Layla some more closure. Also loved the fact that it was Oscar Isaac's idea to give Steven a British accent and Jake a Spanish one.

fun "fact", Layla's design and scenes are parallel to WW86 Diana's golden suit because Mohammed Diab despise the depiction and poor representation of Egypt/Egyptian in that movie.

If I noticed that this episode had you guys very loud (which is great quality btw on acoustics, NICE) but the audio for the video was very low. I think the average audio of the show should be no less than 70% of your own voice bar as I was struggling to find a balance on my youtube audio to hear the show audio bit while within ear-sensitive range of your audio commentary :D Otherwise, I'm loving this so far! So, as of now, there is no confirmation for a second season. However, they do have the opportunity and ability to do one, should they have a story. At least that is what Oscar Isaac has stated. If it were me, I'd love to see a second season of Moon Knight, where Marc and Steven have to investigate murders committed by Jake, and eventually come to grips and accept the third personality. It would be a cool, character driven story. I'd also like Mr. Knight to become more of the character he is in the comics, which is all three personalities working together in tandem to create the fourth (Mr. Knight). I think it would be awesome to see. Hopefully it happens. As for the show itself, i love it in it's entirety. I feel like Episode 6 was a little rushed, but they did a good job closing up most of the main threads. Plus, as a comic fan, seeing the limo was chef's kiss. Hopefully Marvel loosens up their time constraints, to allow the story to be told easier. Awesome reaction as always!

I hadn't bothered watching this series, but I watched y'alls reaction ep 1-5 and then watched 6 on my own before watching this reaction. I appreciate you keeping in most of the important bits for your audience. Something I couldn't appreciate before since I hadn't seen the full episodes. However I feel you missed one important bit. When "Marc" talks in the last visit to the psych ward dream whatever, (You cut out one of his lines, which takes place before the other being at 20:29 ) I felt I wasn't hearing Marc. There's ominous music and he says "What if we dissagree Doc' (34:05 ish in the episode). I can't say if I'd call it a bronx accent or what, but when I then heard the after credit thing I assumed it was italian. Learning now that it's spanish I'm a little bit confused.
