Hell Boy No way. Because they played their instruments faster? Nonsense.
@cameronjohnson35294 жыл бұрын
@Hell Boy I thought Krist WAS the bassist and Kurt was the guitarist? But Jerry still blows Kurt out of the water on guitar. I also prefer Sean's drumming to Dave's, no matter what band Dave is in. But the thing to keep in mind is that Alice in Chains is a different band from Nirvana with a different sound than Nirvana. Alice in Chains never fit into that "grunge" category for me. To me, the grunge sound was heard more prominently in bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Candlebox, Nirvana, Soul Asylum, and Blind Melon. Alice in Chains was more hard rock and even metal in a fair amount of their music. A few of their songs had a slight touch of that grungy Seattle sound, like Don't Follow. But they never waded very far into that pool. That's why they are such a standalone band, in my view. But that's just my interpretation.
@braksnuts99044 жыл бұрын
Pu Ping the whole “grunge scene” thing was just a label the media gave to bands who were coming out of seattle, that’s why alice in chains always seemed to fall into this category, but i agree, their sound consists of more metal and hard rock

In a way I think Kurt had a jealous streak in him. He made some amazing music but I think on some level he envied Alice in Chains. They were more the sort of stuff he wanted to play. He realised his band became too commercial after nevermind and hated the fame that came with it. I liked Kurt but in interviews with him he never seemed like a humble guy. Layne however was extremely humble and genuinely happy for other peoples success.

Kurt and Layne were twins apart from birth. Both were born in 1967, in days with 20 (Kurt was born in 20 February and Layne was born in 22 August). Both were quiet, introverted, screamy, depressive and heroin addicts. There are even numerologies behind them. Kurt was born in 20/02. If you put those numbers together, you'll have 2002, the year of Layne's demise. They both died on April (not too precisely in April 5th). Kurt was found 3 days after his death and Layne was founded 14 days after his death. 22 (Layne's birth day) - 8 (Layne's birth month) is 14. 14=7+7. 7 was Layne's age when his parents divorced. And if you sum it with 2 (February, Kurt Cobain's birth month), you'll have 9, that Kurt's age when his parents divorced. Kurt was found dead in a day 8, while Layne was born in a month 8. Layne was founded in a day 19, which is just one day before Kurt was born (though not in April). Another not so funny thing is that I was born in a day that mixes April 8 and April 19. April 18 (it could have been April 9). I was born just one day before and almost three years after Layne was found dead (2002) and ten days and eleven years after Kurt was founded (1994). God, I feel cursed by this numerology. I started to listen to Alice in Chains when I was 14 (number of days after Layne was found dead), and I started to listen to Nirvana at 11 (Kurt died eleven years before I was born). Another thing involving birthdays is that, if you take my birth day and month (18/04) and you sum both numbers with 4 (the month I was born and these two legends die), you will have Layne's birthdate (22/08). And if you take 18/04 and sum 18 with 2 and substract 4 with 2, you will have Kurt's birthdate (20/02). Both me and them were Virgo in Ascendant. Layne was Pisces in Moon whereas Kurt was Pisces in Sun.

@@aleksastamenkovic5526 people are scared to go deep, it scares humans. Which is understandable, it’s human nature to fear the unknown or otherworldy. Hence the term, waters run deep, as in Pisces, water, same as cancer, and scorpio. Especially scorpio that goes deep into the occult and spirituality. Layne and kurt also has scorpio energy. Kurt was somewhat aware of this too, courtney was into astrology, and in heart shaped box kurt says “she eyes me like a pisces”, “eat your Cancer”. Courtney is a Cancer…

You can't really know Layne's moon sign unless you know what time he was born. Time of day is a factor. On August 22, 1967 the moon shifted from Pisces into Aries. So unless you are privy to his exact time of birth, you can't make such "definitive" assertions. I have 6 Leo friends, and a Leo niece. My niece shares her birthday with Layne. Every single one of them is introverted and shy. One is even agoraphobic. All of them have fiery tempers if pushed too far.
