Layout Location Spotlight: Ironton
Check out some street running trains in Ironton! Source material for information on the city is from Wikipedia and Scott Trostel’s book, The Detroit, Toledo, and Ironton railroad.

Hi Shawn, just found out about you channel from the over 40 group. Awesome and would love to chat sometime. I am I Portland OR with little or no access to over 40 shall we say and I am working on my own layout in a basement room. All the bench work is done but decisions still need to be made. I and several generations preceding me have lived in Ironton and while neat to look at... it’s way off from what actually was. I also worked in what was at one time (way before my time) the old rail yard, which is now nothing but at the time I worked there was a switching point for cars providing sand and coke for a local Ford parts molding/casting plant (Dayton/Ironton iron) which is no longer here.
