A very impressive gantry and signal cages. I have loved my Z21 train controller for many years now. A magical low light running session. Nice video.

Thank you Rob, many thanks to Dave over at Tinsley for doing the conversion work on the signal gantry. That Z21 is a cracking control system, heard lots of great reports about it. Keep up the great work on Farland, all the best.

Fantastic update Iain. I have a suggestion for the scene at 3:50 in the video. If its possible, perhaps add the son that would be a mechanic fixing the underside of the green car (changing the oil perhaps?) whilst the wife of the husband is sitting on the table bench nagging at her husband while his is mowing the lawn and cannot hear her due to the noise of the petrol mower. That would add a great storyline to the model railway scene. Now I have another idea for the burnt out car scene. Can I nominate a Subaru 360 if one is available in OO or HO scale because I hate that car and it looks like its derived from a Goomba from super mario bros. If there is no models available of that car. Could I nominate anything from BMW, Audi or Mercedes? I have my reasons for this ;). All the best mate Ash.

Hi Ash, great to hear from you. Hope your well. Many thanks for the ideas & feedback, food for thought, thank you. I've already got ear marked a particular one for use as a burnt out car, i'll need to practice modelling it first, lol. Like the idea of the mechanic working on the car, which gives me an idea :-) All the best & kind regards Iain

@@railandmodel Well I have an idea for the burning car or burnt out car whichever you decide. If you wanted to simulate a burning car on the layout with the flickering flames and smoke. You could use pulled cotton wool and then paint it into a smoky grey to represent the smoke bellowing out of the car windows and then add a flickering LED inside the car to represent the flames of the car fire. Then if you wanted to, you could have a fire crew at the scene tackling the fire with hoses and add flashing blue lights to the fire truck. Something like the Dennis RS or the Scania CP31 which Oxford both make would fit well in with the layout and Preiser make the firefighter crew packs. I will be adding a crew into my Thornycroft Nubian Fire Truck model when I build my model railway :). Your layout is a cracking work of art and to be honest. It deserves an article in a model train magazine in my opinion :). All the best Ash.

Thank you Ash, very much appreciated for your kind words. I'll look at possibly doing the car on fire or as a burnt out shell, but will see which looks best. Many thanks for the ideas, brilliant stuff. I'll possibly look at may be contacting the magazines once i've got the layout completed. The winter scene has appeared in the free modelling newspaper though :-) Kind regards. Iain

Thank you Nick. The 350 has been on the fleet a couple of years now, it came from Kernow Models in a sale. Google search: Bachmann Branchline 31-032 Class 350/1 Desiro 4-Car EMU 350 101 should find some still up for sale. Kind regards, Iain
