I love how Nikita is telling Layton to focus after doing the spin into split as they said on It takes 2 they had been struggling with them. Nikita knew how excitable Layton was, so he kept him in check to finish the routine. What a fabulous teacher 😍

I think I have watched this like 30 times this past week. I really don’t care about what background Layton has or what his status is in the World. It is just fabulous to see these two dance. Layton has to unlearn all his stage experience because Ballroom/Latin is a whole new ballgame. And I love seeing Nikita develop and show his skills as a dancer/choreographer to his fullest potential. Dance to your heart’s delight, Guys. If I could vote, I would!

I know I am super-duper late to these 2 extraordinary dancers, but I have been watching and re-watching their videos on here, Tiktok, these 2 are freaking addictive to watch! I am sad they didn't win the tv show, but I am super happy that they overall won the Strictly Come Dance Live Tour 2024! They are just so damn mesmerizing to watch, all their dances are just so damn beautifully epic, amazing, fabulous! I love their Cha-Cha, Black Pool dance, Paso Doble, Tango and Argentine Tango. The more successful Layton is, the more complaints there will be about his professional dancer status. I personally am glad he is on the show because an LGBTQ black person needs to be a figurehead, a role model, not someone average who gets eliminated quickly. Layton is giving performances that will be lauded for years to come, long after the complaints have died away.

Layton is a trained dancer but not in ballroom or Latin American. He has the professionalism, dedication, desire and passion to learn which is a bonus. He will also have experience in learning routines quickly. All of that said, it will be tough for him. I absolutely love him. He’s incredible. I’ve watched this so many times.

Ultimately, the viewers will decide how far he goes, I guess. I like the fact that this year, there is no clear favourite as yet.

@@soysaucegirl2007 yes, for me the most astonishing performances have been from Angela Rippon, at 78 years old. I don't think there is anyone outstanding at the moment, but I think Bobby and Eli and also Amanda have big potential. To me the whole "figurehead" thing is all we actually seem to hear and see from the BBC these days I notice how "drag race" - a horribly misogynistic show, pops up as one of their most promoted shows. I get why strictly is wanting to show couples of the same sex etc, but it does fundamentally change the premise of the show and the expections of the male leading the dances. I am not sure whether really it is equal if we are expecting women like karen to loft into the air a woman who is many times her size. I love the body positivity etc, but there are quite a few implications of expecting same sex couples - particularly with women. I note that the bbc always prefers too to show male LGTBQ people, we don't seem to have a "drag race" for women....

His sexuality or skincolor have f all to do with anything..fact is he is a person who has had years of dancetraining and earned a living by dancing..as such he is way too much of a professional for this to be fair in a competition in which other participants have no training or experience on such a level at all. Like everyone else here I loved this - and have rewatched it many times this week. What a stunning performance from this beautiful partnership. I agree that Nikita is getting a deserved chance to shine with the choreography too. It also seems that the partnership is enabling Nikita to evolve and show his depth of character too. This is what I've been waiting for since the launch show, the technique to be on the same level as the performance and here it was, gorgeous Cha Cha walks, incredible potcircle, perfect new yorker and that jump into the slipts 😍 the spotting on the spins, the side by side work, the arm extensions. Honestly... do it again please, it was just knockout, how on earth this only got one 10 I will never know, I was truly capativated, Cha Cha is a flirty, tasty and sexy dance that requires a shassee like walk and attitude and Layton brought that with his energy in spade loads. Slaying it on the dancefloor! That was a spectacular Cha Cha Cha, a dance that can often look dull as ditch water just exploded off the screen. Fabulous timing, superb pot sticker and splits, brilliant spins, Layton's fluidity was excellent, while keeping the sharpness of the leg movement and his feet were placed wonderfully through the floor.
